Montez Was Sensational

Way to bounce back, Steven, and lead us to a win on the road.

I feel like this was the best game of his CU career.
Better than beating Oregon in Eugene? Maybe. Really great effort by him tonight. He just looked relaxed and care free. He plays best when he’s just cutting it loose.

i prefer to believe that you are operating under a misapprehension. thusly, we shall win out.
I think this game completely disproves the theory that montez is better after a few run plays. Nope, keep him clean all day. If you do a RPO or read option, the option is always a pass. Once he gets hit, you get the random result montez.

no, cause he won't go another game without getting touched by the opposing team.

He received good protection against USAFA and played like garbage (2 sacks given were from Montez mistakes). The difference between yesterday and last week was his focus and decisiveness. The OL play was better yesterday, but their improvement was only by a small increment.

Yesterday, we got Steven.
Last week, we got Stevie.

I’d like to ask Stevie to return to his dimension.

Excellent night for the young man. Football might night be his full time job, but it could be. The tools are there.

Most of the play calling was spot on and executed well. Any word yet on the Buffs key injuries? With a bye week, hopefully they can recover enough in time for Arizona.

I think against AFA we saw a typical kid who thought he was better than the other tram and therefore didn’t give 100% in Prep week.
If he learned his lesson he could be dangerous the rest of the way.

I’ve never seen him keep his eyes downfield while buying time with his legs like that before. If he can add that skill set it would be huge
This. Noticeably different in this respect. He stepped up or stayed in the pocket way more than he rolled out. Much of that had to do with the OL manning-up and keeping the pocket structurally sound.

A new era has begun.
This is why saying things like, “Buffs haven’t won in Tempe” or “Buffs are a bad road team” or “Hard to see 2 more wins on the schedule” just doesn’t matter/apply to this team. It’s clear at this point that we have a staff who knows how to get the team ready to play on the road, stay focused for 4 Quarters, not shrink in the moment, beat teams that are as good or maybe better, etc.

As fans, we should no longer believe there is a such thing as a no hoper, particularly this season.

Sunday after win is always fun but ESPN College Football Final disappoints again with a lack of CU Buff highlights. 3 sports center highlight ready catches from Tony Brown and not one makes the recap?

Pac 12 Network Final Score spent the least amount of time on the Buffs win in Tempe than any other game yesterday. Look, I understand why we shouldn't get more time than WSU-UCLA, Oregon-Stanford, or Cal-Ole Miss, but definitely the least? That's a croc of horse **** from the network that should be trying to prop up all the conference games and teams.

In all fairness, there’s no way in Hell ****braska should have been ranked.
Sure, but that’s how they keep track of these things.

In my mind, we beat a ranked team on the road when we won at Stanford in 2016. They weren’t ranked at the time of the game obviously, but they were by the end of the season.

Mel Tucker is in the process of making Rick George look like an even more competent genius.
