The Miracle At Michigan

I still have that old Spots Illustrated in near mint condition in my bedroom at my parent's place.
Me, too! Except I no longer need my parent's place to stash stuff... Sorry?

Was a guest on the Buffs' sideline. Won't ever be topped.
I got nothin'. I watched it at a sports bar in Durham, NC on a 6 inch TV in my booth. My wife and I were the only ones in the bar watching the game by the end, as evidenced by everyone looking at me like I had bubonic plague when I stood up and screamed for 30 seconds while my wife tried to claw me back down to my seat.

Here's to you!

I was in Virginia and the game wasn't broadcast to that area of the country. Some stupid east coast pillow fight was on, boring the masses. I was only able to catch score updates.

Then the network broke in with the replay complete with the iconic call by Keith Jackson. I went nuclear.

A few minutes later after I'd calmed down I realized the stupid pillow fight was still on.

Really??? The number 3 and 5 ranked teams are going head to head, in one of most famous stadiums in all of college football, and you showed this %#$÷&#=/ _&?!! $%÷ &%÷#"$÷%:€ &/5=÷!# /\€=$ no good !+/%=#& \=#!&÷(n):confused::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: stinkin' worthless :eek::eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::sleep::sleep: no good pansy slap fest??????

I jumped up and down and yelled a lot. I have a VHS of the News 4 sports with Les Shapiro doing the story.

If anyone wondered why I watched the game on a 6 inch tv in our booth 2 hours from our house, this is why.

I was watching at my parents house and I was so frustrated that I was gonna turn the game off. Dad convinced me to keep watching. I’m gonna give him a call and thank him

Listening to ESPNU this morning with Rick Neuheusial. He mentioned they had tried a hail mary pass at the end of the first half and it failed miserably. Westbrook and Carruth ran into each other during the play, fell down, and it got intercepted. He mentioned they actually adjusted the play based off of the formation Michigan ran on that play in case they needed it again.

I do as well, it was extra special for me, considering a real good friend of mine loved Michigan football. I put it up on my wall so that peckerwood would have to see it. :D He always bitched about it being an illegal formation, all I said was, "scoreboard, in yall's crib."

I watched the game at my house. Son was about 15 months old, and he had woken from his nap sometime in the 4th quarter. I did what any responsible father would do when faced with this situation. I put him on the floor with his back to the television so that I could watch the game over his head while keeping him entertained. When the Hail Mary worked, I jumped up screaming like any good fan would do, but it startled him and he started crying.

Oh well, he ended up a Buff, as did his sister.

How the hell was it an illegal formation? That’s the first I’ve heard that

Where is that jets rocket victory guy? I tried to @ him but can’t seem to get the name right. Seems like this thread is up his alley

His deal was was how they aligned, and Westbrook told them to back off the line. He didn't think they got close enough to the line, too many off. Doesn't matter, scoreboard. :D

Was actually a guest of one my workmates who was the nephew of the Michigan AD. Was in the Michigan AD box. They were all telling me it was a great game when the catch happened. I got escorted out of the box and made my way down to the end zone and sideline where the celebration was taking place

Are you sure he isn’t a ‘braska fan?
I'm sure. I went down for my aunt's funeral, him and ****ing Rich told my son's mom to walk up to me and say, "it wasn't a clip." He knew damn well I'd react like I did lol, I just said, "what?" I looked at him, he busted out laughing, ****ing peckerwood. He's a Domer, obviously. There weren't many CU fans in my neck of the woods, until they starting winning alot. :D They only did it to get me to relax a bit, tough day. Believe, it was 2002, I've tried to forget about it.

Morrison: “I was a coach for a long time. We always looked for a better way to build the mouse trap. We let guys behind us. You just can’t do that. We let a guy with a cannon of an arm throw a ball that still, to this day, I’ve not seen a more beautiful ball. I haven’t. It was pretty spectacular.”

Lots of great lines and comments in that article, but one I really like:

"An instant after the last second ran off he let the ball go with his front foot at the 27-yard line."

What an incredible throw.

I was a few rows up in the other end zone for that play. Guy behind me kept kicking my back the whole second half when they took the lead. Will never forget how great 1,000 people screaming in joy sounded in a stadium of 100k. Had a million things I was going to say to the guy behind me, but just turned around and smiled. Didn't need to say a word.
