Maybe the wrong thread, but here's what Wilner says about CU vs Stanford:
"What-If of the Season: Stanford
The Cardinal is 3-2 overall, tied with Oregon and one game behind Washington in the loss column. We can’t help but wonder how the division might look if a testing error hadn’t forced quarterback Davis Mills to miss the opener at Oregon and the following week of practice. Mills was completely out of rhythm in the first half against Colorado, then directed a series of second-half touchdown drives in what became a three-point loss. If he practices all week, he’s probably sharp from the start, the loss becomes a victory and Stanford wins the North."
What kind of BS is this? How much "sharper" does Mills have to be to hand off a ball to a carrier who then gets immediately stuffed by our defense? Oh, and is it 30 minutes all that's required to "get sharp"? As long as we are playing this game, we can "what if" to several national championships. We can what if our offensive line and Landman injuries to whatever outcome we can dream of. Wilner is no better than a nub doing simulated games, except now after it was already played.

Had UCLA not turned it over 5 times, had Arizona not been ****ty for 3 quarters, and had SDSU had a more competent QB, CU would be 0-5 and right where everyone picked them to be!
Is Wilner aware the first half was a closer football game than the second half was?
Both UCLA and Stanford games got close because KD has an NFL mindset (a win is a win, style points don't matter) and as much as anyone might hate it it worked to perfection in both of the first 2 games. The games got closer but they never really as close as the finals looked. UCLA never had the ball within one score after it was 14-0. Stanford had one play within one score after it was 21-9 and that play was with 10 seconds and 92 yards to go.
If the pac 12 makes us ****ing fly to LA just to be ready in case one of those two teams drop out, Rick George needs to raise holy hell.
I imagine they look to bump everyone from the North up one spot, which leaves ASU without a game. This scenario would be CU vs Stanford in LA.
So with Stanford saying they're not accepting a bowl invite, but still practicing this week, this was the assumed outcome for them I'm guessing. Any chance they adjust the bump up to keep teams who've already played each other from playing again?

They'd take us if we were interested in leaving. Frankly, expansion involving us is the only way they do anything IMO.

This is so dumb. Dumber than the talk about CU playing USC last week. Way dumber. P12 bending over to put a 3-2 team into a fake championship game. Scrap it or let us play USC.
One game just isn’t enough. If we win it would be a different conversation but we didn’t and lost our chance. It’s a bummer but it is what it is.
I agree with this completely but I don’t think we would be competitive with USC right now.

If its at home, I'm down. If not, let's get ready for a bowl game. I don't want to be a part of this LA farce.
I see no benefit in playing Stanford again. If we lose, it has a substantial impact to the image of the Buffs success this year. With Landman out, I could definitely see that as a likely outcome. I'd much rather play the beavs if that were an option. Of course I realize that we don't get to choose.
Who cares where it is? The idea is to have our Buffs play a football game.

If this is true, why was it even announced that UW would play? Complete incompetence.

I'd rather take an extra week and heal up for a bowl game after last weekend. Not real interested in musical gameplanning or having to travel to play a game that could hurt our bowl position. Also don't think we need to be a part of this LA farce.
