22-23 Transfer Portal and General Recruiting Catch-All Thread

At some point a bowl team will be unable to play because of too many transfers...Oregon wants Khyree Jackson

Listen, I’m fine with Prime telling them like it is and giving them the choice. But taking a kid’s scholarship isn’t a cool move. And I think Prime will not just cut guys unless there is some ulterior reason.

I’m not losing sleep over it one way or the other.
I don't think the Pac12 will allow prime to just cut guys. I believe the conference guarantees scholarships.

That being said, he may aggressively encourage players to find alternate means to play football.

I'm quite sure the guaranteed scholly does not equal a guaranteed spot on the roster. Easy to imagine a player with a career ending injury who gets to continue his education, but doesn't take up a spot on the 85 player cap.

and if I'm wrong, that is a stupid ****ing rule.

Okay. Fine. But these kids may have chosen CU over other options. If they get cut they likely will not have options anymore. So you say “too bad. Screw ‘em.” Some of these kids are well along toward a CU degree and rely on their scholarship to complete their degree but you say, “too bad. Screw ‘em.” Nice.

Screamin’ A is appalled that Prime wasn’t given an opportunity with an SEC school or FSU and will “rue the day they didn’t hire Prime.”

But he absolutely believes Prime will turn CU around. And Paul Finebaum totally walked back his “bad fit” take. He said that he was almost in tears watching the press conference. He thinks CU hit a home run.

Sharpe and Bayless also think he will turn thing around. Sharpe went off on blacks who are pissed at Prime for leaving Jackson State. He said they owe Prime their gratitude. “He showed them the blueprint” and they need to follow it.

If any of these young men are timid and weak, shame on them. But I don’t think most, if any, are and you shouldn’t imply that they are. The bulk of our guys were legit 3 star recruits. The bulk of them were freshmen and sophomores.

The issue isn’t their boldness or strength. It’s that a winning program needs higher level talent. I’m sorry, I know the team was awful and needs a much higher level of talent. But don’t disparage the guys that are there. And yeah, there are probably some that were slackers. But not most.

For this year, there is one rule: be under 85. So... basically the maximum turnover is however many guys Prime wants and can get out of the portal + 25.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I haven't been paying attention at all to the transfer rules given CU's refusal to participate up to this point. Is that an "all universities" rule this year? Or just CU because of the coaching change?

both are 2024 recruits. that class is going to be the balls.
How quickly can all new players pick up offensive or defensive schemes that don’t even exist on paper yet? Lol

Hey, I think our kicker situation is solid, though! That’s one.
