CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Every single ESPN+ game except one is against total crap opponents and deserve to be relegated to ESPN+.
The only game to me that might have a case to be 'interesting' is SMU at Oklahoma.
Keep in mind that that was supposed to be Georgia at Oklahoma until the SEC asked both schools to cancel that series.

Forget who's interviewing Howell and listen to what he's saying. My God this place is sometimes littered with children.
Christ ITB. Howell isn't saying anything we don't already know or have inferred. The Pac 12 doesn't have a TV deal, which is causing CU and Arizona (in particular) to seriously consider backup plans.

Stop talking about it like Howell scooped a couple guys from Wacko. He didn't.

The importance of the interview is that Howell has actually 'cracked' a bit. This really is one of the first times he seems to be 'giving in' to the idea that going to the Big12 might actually happen.

Why is it important what Howell believes?

He is the same dude that believed Coach Prime was not coming. He is the same dude that believed Mendenhall was the best HC option for CU.

Clearly Howell is a trailing indicator.

I’m just waiting for your continued snark toward ITB when CU does, in fact, go to the Big 12.
Being certain about an uncertain thing because you are watching a lot of YouTube radio doesn't make you smart, it makes you dumb and lucky. If you predict rain every day, eventually you will be right. Also, I'll definitely make fun of anyone ecstatic about the move if it happens

We are ****ed either way. I feel lesser ****ed in Big12 but still ****ed.

Hey f*** you, I like the move.

I don’t like the daily cinematic universe that exists around realignment though

Looking forward to more breathless and confident predictions that next week is the week

Nope, not the way the industry defines it. Miami's definition earlier is the best way of putting it. ESPN+ is a streaming service, ESPN is not - it is part of linear programming package at this time. Yes I can get ESPN over my phone through my linear subscription.
technically, linear is a channel format and not a delivery method while streaming is a delivery format. So they aren’t mutually exclusive. For this discussion, you and Miami mean that linear is anything available by a traditional broadcast method and streaming is anything that’s not. That’s a fine definition for this discussion but it’s not how “the industry” defines it.

I’m in this industry on the technical side creating linear OTT channels (so linear streaming channels).

Here is the thing with reporters: they only know what other people give them.

What he believes is not the same as what he reports. But what he believes should lead him in the right direction to follow the story, if hes good at his job.

The message has been straight forward from day one. If the PAC (or rather Kliavkoff) can deliver a good financial package, none of its members will defect.

What has grown tiresome is the constant barrage of propaganda that the negotiations for the PAC will take time. And that somehow its leverage in these negotiations was not diminished over time. All is well. The PAC will get a great deal.

CU is being smart, keeping its options open, and will leave if it has no other responsible choice. Decision day is approaching.

But if CU does go to the Big 12 doesn’t that somewhat validate some of these YouTubers and anonymous tweeters even a little? There’s been a lot of very specific speculation about the Pac 12’s media deal, who is been talking to the Big 12, etc and there are a lot more mainstream and credible media types who are starting to echo some of the exact same things. At some point it’s not just about a broken clock being right twice a day.

I’d also argue that the people who are laughing at the Big 12 idea are going off less (zero) tangible or credible information than the Big 12 truthers. End of the day, you don’t want CU in the Big 12 so you’re laughing it off and making fun of ITB, who does want CU in the Big 12. You’re both full of ****

None of the You Tubers needed to be Nostradamus to see what’s been going on.

And seeing CU as potentially the first mover was pretty easy to forecast, as it was previously in the Big 12 and not tethered to another same state member, like AZ/ASU (or not getting an offer like Utah). CU is the school that can bolt with the most ease.

scurrilous attacks on each other's motives and tactics.

we shall have to create a junta subcommittee to serve in judgment of who has betrayed the collective Allbuffs soul in these matters. consequences shall be quite dire

Right, but let’s not pretend the anonymous YouTubers and Tweeters are the only ones being cast aside as non-credible. People are laughing at Dennis Dodd because he used to live in Kansas or some such ****, but pumping Wilner and Canzano as credible.

The Athletic is now reporting CU in talks with the B12. ESPN’s second CFB headline is Big12 is talking expansion. Wilner is now talking about how CU does matter and will be easily replaced. It’s far more than smoke and we still have people claiming it’s all just broken clocks and what not.

Person A:
The wolves are coming! I really want them to come!

Person B: They didn't come. I guess they still could, but why are you certain? WTF?

A: Wolves are coming for sure this time, right now!
B: Still no wolves. WTF is wrong with you?

A: Wolves are coming by the end of the week because these two people who want the wolves to come on the radio said so 3 hours into a 5 hour broadcast. Here's the video! WATCH THE LINK!!
B: Are you OK?

A: Wolves are coming NEXT week because this guy on twitter who works for the company who wants to televise the wolves coming said so.
B: Yea, he's said that 3 times and been wrong each time. Please stop.

Media story comes out: Yea, the wolves and the townspeople have been talking and the towns people say they may invite the wolves if their other option doesn't work out.

A: Im sure this time. The radio guys said it again, this time on hour 2! And it is happening THIS WEEK!
B: It didn't happen this week. Again. You are an idiot.

Defeated: These people are the same.

Come on man. If we were going to the B12 for sure, we'd already be there. Same for the Pac, if we were staying we'd have said so. Negotiations are ongoing with all parties and what happens will happen when the negotiations end. It's the certainty that's hilarious and stupid, not the prediction.
