People who have sat in on mock selections have said they use “multiple” sources. I think that’s the right way.

If FSU is left out, then playoff selections were made based strictly on subjective opinions.
It would completely disregard the most important part of sports: playing games and outcomes.

I don't understand all the people making declarative statements that Alabama (and Georgia and Ohio State) is the "best" team when compared to Florida State.

The Big Ten/SEC stans out there would have you believe that the 'real' playoff would be Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama, when any objective measurement says that Washington is no less than the #2 team in the nation.
Point 4. Will it come into play ir not by Committee.
But FSU and Bama are not close in resume because, you know, Bama has a loss and FSU doesn’t.
Not to mention that even with the 3 point repeat win over Oregon, Washington has nearly as many question marks as FSU.
If you're huffing B1G/SEC farts and really think Bama is undeniably way, way better than FSU, then why not:

It's because they are missing their best player. Their QB had a QBR of 12.7 last night. You can't ignore the fact that Travis is out.
The teams are comparable at the margin IMO. If the Conmittee believes so, point 4 applies. If not, it doesn’t play.

If both teams had one loss, then the Jordan Travis part of point 4 would matter, but wins and losses come first. Not to mention FSU has won multiple games without Travis, including over a top 10 Louisville team.
