Official CFP Selection Freakout Thread

Do Kentucky or Vanderbilt get the benefit of the doubt that’s given to Alabama here?

You keep applying criteria not in the protocol.
How Bama performed against Auburn is clearly part of assesing if FSU and Bama are "otherwise comparable"

Only with the injury and n=2 observations, is Bama then otherwise comparable, you have to jump to the last point prematurely to engage the last point.

On resume and season results the teams are not "otherwise comparable"

It's because they are missing their best player. Their QB had a QBR of 12.7 last night. You can't ignore the fact that Travis is out.

Just remember that their QB last night wouldn't be their QB in the playoff. Rodemaker isn't Travis, but he's light years better than Glenn.

The ESPN selection committee just killed the ACC for good. FSU is already frd up being in the ACC and now they are not in the playoffs because they are not in the SEC.
FSU
Clemson
Colorado
Anyone not in the SEC or BIG10 must demand a balanced Superleague

Bama is better than FSU without Travis. It’s that simple. Committee got it right.

They're one of the best 4 teams this year, FSU without JT is not.

Toughest SOS of the playoff teams and beat #1 and was pretty convincing in doing so.
Convincing? UGA outgained Bama 243-192 and lost by 3 because of losing the turnover battle 1-0.

Fwiw, FSU generated 219 yards of offense in its conference title game with a backup QB who would not be starting in the playoffs. I suppose Bama's offense performed better than Iowa's yesterday (155 yards), but Iowa turning the ball over 3 times significantly reduced its production.

The 12 team playoff gives the ACC and Big XII a lifeline for a few years.

The assumption that the SEC is wildly superior will finally get tested in the 12 team playoff. Seeing how this year's Mizzou and Ole Miss, stack up when facing a real non SEC test would be telling.
