cause the Broncos ****ing suck
In all seriousness I wonder if the Broncos sucking could help attendance and fans come to Boulder? It wouldn't hurt to start a little marketing campaign targeting Denver residents... cheaper seats, better football and you don't have all of the, "I'm not playing until you pay me" attitude. Thoughts?
Don't get me started. I've been praying for an epic donco meltdown in the hopes that just such a thing would occur. The concensus around here is that Denver is a Broncos town. Always will be. And that even if the Broncos suck sweaty donkey balls, and the Buffs are in contention for a MNC, that there's no way in hell that there would be any crossover.
I hold out hope.

Really has no impact on the Buffs. The number one way to get entertainment dollars is to put a good product out there for the public. The Nuggets being bad doesn't do anything for the Avalanche but the Nuggets being good does a lot for the Nuggets.
The drama actually keeps the interest in the Broncos up...the preseason game with Chicago will be well-attended and watched just because of the Jay Cutler return to town.
I don't see the Broncos situation having much if any bearing on the Buffs.

I live in the Denver area and it really is a Broncos town. I wear a camoflgued CU hat that I bought from Wal-Mart but I don't see that much CU representation in Lakewood (where I live).

I won't say it's impossible but to see any significant crossover would take more than just 1 year of the Broncos sucking and CU being good.
You are about to get more than 1 year of the Donks sucking
Most bronco fans I know seem to not know anything about other sports, or even football for that matter. It's one of the things I hate most about Colorado is that "it's a Bronco town". The Rockies are the real story right now, but 98% of the sports-radio talk is about the exhibition NFL season. With that said, I have more interest in the Broncos this season than ever before because of all the bashing that the coach has taken and the Cutler situation. I'm actually rooting for the Broncos just to prove all those idiot callers to the Fan wrong! But not as much as I'm rooting for the Buffs!
Go Buffs!
It's about time the Broncos move out of the way. They've thanklessly held a monopoly over Denver for decades. Even growing up a somewhat ardent Broncos fan, the treatment of college sports in Colorado by the media and lukewarm just-jumped-on-the-bandwagon Denver sports fans has since turned me against the donkeys.
