What do you think? I would think it would be kinda akward for him.
I think there needs to be an option 4. Stays and competes.
but this program will no doubt be going in a new direction at QB next year regardless of HC.
Can you justify your certitude? From my view, if Hawk is the coach in 2010, Cody is the starter.
I really doubt you guys fire Hawkins this year. It's going to cost to much. I'm thinking at the end of next year if he still suxors.
Why would Bohn be putting his feelers out re: new HCs if he absolutely knew there´s **** all chance of him coming up with the money to buy out Talkins?
When you consider just how pissed off the general fan base seems to be by looking at opinions on here, I think Talkins´ buy out might be "chump change" compared to the cash they might lose out on long term if they keep him.
I've come to this conclusion based on the fact that Hansen is redshirting this year despite poor QB play by Cody, clearly showing they want him to be the go-to-guy next year.
Plus, it's been a poorly-kept secret that Hansen would be playing this year if not for said redshirt and potential dicipline issues.
Further, I just don't think it's possible that Cody would return as the starter after what will now be 2 years of awful play and dissapointing seasons.
we shall see
incorrect response... the CORRECT way to do it is:we shall see
He'd stay and probably do anything possible to retain his starting spot...and if that didn't happen he'd be the #1 fan, supporter & coach to the guy that took his spot...Cody's a class person who I bet bleads Black & Gold the rest of his life, no matter what happens to his dad
Perhaps I should clarify:
If Dan is canned during this season, Cody will continue to start, although we'll prob start to see other qb's in garbage time
If Dan is canned after the season, then Cody stays, competes but does not start. He would be a fantastic #2 considering his abilities and knowledge of the program.
Now the question becomes:
*What does it take for Dan to be gone before the season is over (something like 70-3?),
*What does it take for Dan to be gone after the season (really bad recruiting class?), and
*what does it take for Dan to stay for year 5 (6 wins?)
This has been on my mind letely. I was just curious as to peoples opinions on it. I just think it would be hard on Cody.
