Colorado State and Weber State are his only reported offers so far, but there seems to be some mutual interest with CU.

    CU has offered Woods.

He is visiting today and playing a pickup game with the team.

Listed as a point guard, he's really more of a combo guard. Woods is a scorer who also rebounds a bit.

Both parents are supposedly CU grads. I think we're going to sign him in the early period this fall. Let's hope. Very good reviews on him.

    I don't know.

What would be the advantage for a basketball player to graduate in December, though? He'd miss most of his senior season and all of the playoffs. Unless the college program was 1 scholarship under the limit for the current season, he couldn't be at the college on scholarship. I suppose if the college was under the scholarship limit, he could join the team in January in time for conference play. Interesting question, but I'm not sure we'll ever have to worry about what the correct answer would be. It would really have to be a perfect storm for this to ever happen, imo.

Your ignorance is one of the things that makes this place so entertaining. Not only will I forgive it, I'll encourage it.

Buffnik is right in that there is not advantage for a bball player to leave early his senior season, because bball is a winter sport. He can, but there really is no point. The player would already have started his last season of ball, and by leaving early, he screws over his HS team and misses the playoffs. He also most likely wouldn't get to play on his college team due to not having practiced with them.

However, if this kid were to commit right now, if his academics permitted it, he could forego his senior season of HS and enroll a full year early. Andre Dawkins did this last year at Duke - played last year for Duke in what should have been his HS Sr season. James McAdoo may do this for the upcoming season for UNC. Things really have to align though - the player really has to have good academics in order to do this.
