Hopefully he's good enough when he makes it to CU...otherwise Boyle's going to have to tell him to take a seat over there...

I didn't find anything with a quick search.

    I'll keep digging.

Please treat this as you would a profile thread.

Why do they always stay and talk? Just leave at least people won't remember you as much.

On topic: I'd like some more info. 6-5 and plus 30ppg sounds pretty nice.

Ryan Casey is following this kid. I would go to him for information at this point.

Edit: There are all sorts of results from Google search on this kid including highlight reels, etc. See this DP article regarding his recruitment http://www.denverpost.com/preps/ci_16985163

Class 4A in the state of CO...I'm not saying that this kid isn't good, but the stats don't necessarily mean a whole lot. Without seeing him play, it's difficult to see how much of player he is. It's really unfortunate that he didn't get to play in the summer circuits against better competition. We do need specialty shooters though. In the end, I trust Boyle with his scholly offers.

Thanks. And welcome to the site.

    32.2 points per game
    11.9 assists per game
    6.1 steals per game

Does he drive the bus, too? :smile2:

All you can say is that this is dominant. With Fossil Ridge undefeated so far this year, I'm sure we'll have a chance to see him in the state tourney. Be great if someone could find some film.

Thanks. Those stats are team totals. :)
His are listed below with the rest of the team. I know one of the assistants there. I'll see if film is anywhere.

Trying to do 3 things at once. Still, 30 pts, 9 borads, 3 assists and 1+ steals a night... does he also drive the bus?

One thing that's really impressive to me is the offensive efficiency. Not a lot of shots to generate that scoring average and he's getting to the line a lot, which I didn't expect from a player I had pegged in my mind as a jump shooter.

Maybe he will prove me wrong, but from the video, I dont know if he is D1 talent. The part that looked like he could prove me wrong with is his shooting, and if he can shoot lights out. Reminds me of a Blair Wilson type player, set him up for a 3 and he will make it all day, but beyond that, not much production.

It would have helped him a lot to play against some tougher competition to gauge his athleticism a little better.

that might actually work well in our offense, if the defense collapses on someone driving to the hoop, they can kick it out to Hansen for a 3.

It would work well under Bz's offense, not so much for Boyle. I would say that boyle is looking for more players with the atleticism of Roberson. I would just like to see Hansen play along with stronger players. This all goes to what kind of team are you trying to build, I think Boyle isnt looking at trying to just be competitive, he is trying to be a top tier PAC team.

Pure shooters with prototypical size for the "2" will work in any system.

Those guys are valuable and Boyle's system does rely on guys who can bury a 3 off the fast break, on a kick out from the post or a drive & dish, or coming around a screen from the motion half court offense to stop & pop.

The question for Boyle's system with Hansen is going to be whether he has the speed to get up and down the court like Boyle wants or the agility to be a great on the ball defender.

Where Boyle starts in recruiting, though, is that he looks for 2 things: 1) Skill; and, 2) Toughness. If a player can score, has the clutch gene, will play through pain, and will fight for ever inch of positioning, every loose ball & every rebound... Boyle feels like he can coach him up on other things.

it would have been great under BZ, but not so bad under ours. Is this kid that much worse than Levi? he seems to do pretty well in this system.

I dont think it is a matter of him being a bad player, I just dont think he is the type of player Boyle wants to bring into the program, he is looking for people that can run the other team off the court. Levi is a good player, but he just like a lot of the guys left over from Bz arent the style player that Boyle is looking for. In a few years you will see a rather dramatic change in the style play. Maybe Wake will give him a call, Bz should love a kid like that.

He dropped 46 points on tuesday on 13/19 from the field and 16/18 from the line! that kind of shooting/scoring works in any system.

Also Fossil Ridge plays at that disgusting place known as Boulder High tonight if anyone wants to go do some scouting, should be a good game both teams are ranked in the top 5. Boulders Point Guard Riley Grabeau is having a great season as well.

and Hansen struggled. That's great if you can shoot, but you have the athletic ability not to be a defensive liability...as well as get to a position to take a shot. I was not a fan of Blair Wilson for a long time, but he eventually tightened up his defense to be decent on the court.

I'm not thinking Hansen is going to be a target for the Buffs, and at this point, I'm inclined to think that's a smart move by the staff.

Tad Boyle was at Boulder High the other night, and talked to some fans. Nice guy.

Of course, he can't talk about specific recruits.
