Teammates with 2011 Buff signee Gregory Henderson (CB). Notched 100 tackles in 2010 as a junior. Starr is likely to end up with offers with most of the Pac-12. Good to be in early.

Really like him as a prospect. His size and speed would be a nice upgrade for our LBs right away. Never hurts to keep the foot in the door at a program like Norco either. Plus, given the fact he is very likely to end up in the Pac-12 somewhere, I really do not want to face him for the next 3-4 years.

Solid player. Projects at MLB. Good feet and awareness. Generally the first LB moving towards the ball-carrier meaning he's seeing things un-fold the quickest, awareness and insticts. Ok with his hands, something he'll have to get better with at the next level. Doesn't appear to have natural pass rushing technique. He needs to shock blockers more at the POA. He's ok there though. He'll post and shed blocks on the HS level. He's good at slipping through traffic to make it to the ball carrier. Good at keeping holding his gap responsibilities. Just an average-ok blitzer. Looks unnatural moving backwards in coverage. Could just be coaching. Doesn't appear to be a downhill player, he's more of a run to the ball carrier, wrap up and take them down.

Comparing apples to oranges for reference sakes, I'd say Brady Daigh was a better prospect by turning on the tape, and he only got three stars from Rivals. Daigh explosive at the point of attack and hits the hole like a ton of bricks. Being from Cali, if Starr gets a UCLA/Cal/SC offer they'll probably say he's a four star LB. I think that Starr and the LB from Co. Springs that we're recruiting are very similar in attributes.

    He's a solid player.

Hey wow, I'm a lost letterman too! But I know where I am and where he is. He makes it to a lot more buff games than me.

As expected, he is starting to get more attention (and some offers) from other Pac-12 schools. It seems like he will take his time with the process, perhaps taking all five official visits.

USC is starting to show more interest. He made his second unofficial visit there over the weekend. He is pretty much a lock if they offer.

He is still waiting for that USC offer, but I think he is prepared to move on if they do not offer soon. He will be going to the Palo Alto Nike Camp soon and I think he is going to be another player that will stay in the Pac-12 somewhere. We need LBs in this class.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Big Fella. Where did the real Starr end up? I assume this is not Junior?

Starr was a standout at the Stanford Nike Camp last weekend and continues to pick up offers from Pac-12 schools, but not the USC offer he covets. He is still going to their camp next month. We are on the outside looking in right now, but I am hoping that changes during the summer.

Starr an lives in Denver, his oldest boy is around 11 so we'll have to wait a little while for the 3rd generation of that branch of the starr family to don the black and gold.

Seems like several USC posters on the rivals national board think there will be at least a couple current commits that will back out.

 I guess we can always offer him a free vacation.. I wonder if he told the coaches he'd still take visits. Considering how badly he wanted that offer, I'm shocked he's willing to risk losing it by taking visits.

I do want to see classes fill up at places like USC, but it needs to happen with guys we aren't targeting. Starr's a nice player.
