I could not find much out there on Rodrigues, other than the fact that he does have running ability, as he had 21 TDs throwing and 21 TDs running his junior season. He also plays on the same team as TE target Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick.

Anyone know the level of competition he's against? But good early offer list, hopefully we can land him.

I love getting QBs in early, too. Gives them a jumpstart on developing and it makes spring practices more effective with an additional live arm.

Would love to see some film on him, but everything else sounds good. Early enrollment always good, good size, obviously mobile, Sarkisian and Norm Chow offers, couldn't hurt in the recruitment of Cope-Fitzpatrick to maybe bring his QB with him to CU.

Rodrigues performed very well at the Stanford Elite 11 workout yesterday. From the rivals report, he outperformed Bart Houston and Connor Brewer (out of Arizona), among others. Will be interesting to see where he ends up, but his recruitment is heating up.

Not going to lie, I watched his highlights the night before Dillon committed and I was very impressed. He has a very quick release and a good arm. He can also move, hence the Oregon offer. Someone is going to get a very good one imo.

2014 is the 3rd year on his 5 year clock.

After sitting this season, he'd have 2 left.

Buffs don't need another QB with 2 years of eligibility in 2015.

Also doesn't seem like we have had great result counting on QBs who didn't make it elsewhere recently.

Wood, highly rated HS recruit with a lot of talent. Got the starting job for the Buffs but proved why he was on the bottom of the depth chart at Texas, couldn't handle pressure.

Webb, Lost a lot of games at Kansas, lost a lot of games at CU. Master of the 2 yard out.

Who else am I forgetting at the moment.

Point is there is a reason that they aren't getting playing time at the original school. On one side you can argue that the guy(s) ahead of them are very good, on the other side you can say that if they were good enough they would be getting PT and not leave.

So that means all their QB recruits are great?

Was he the primary back-up, was he in line to start or be high on the depth chart this year?

I'm not saying that he is a bad QB but he isn't good enough to make a dent in the depth chart. Why is he available and why should we take a guy who is going to cost us a scholly, won't be able to play for at least a year, and hasn't been good enough to get playing time are Oregon?

No, that doesn't mean all their QBs are great, I wasn't saying that at all. My point was more that Oregon has probably the best dual threat QB in the nation on their team, KU and Texass did not have any good QBs on their roster. I don't know the situation on this one, although the teaser on Oregon's rivals page is...

    https://oregon.rivals.com/

It sounds like he's leaving because he didn't cement himself as the #2 QB. I wasn't making a comment on his ability, just there's a big difference between UO and UT/KU in my mind. I also wasn't advocating for us to use a scholarship on him, you just pulled that out of your ass.

Mariota is a great college QB. Does that mean that everyone behind his is great to.

PRich is a tremendous college WR, Spruce is pretty good as well. Does that mean that the 3rd string guys are also good?

And still we (I included) got all excited about Wood because he was a highly rated HS recruit who had the look of a quality college QB.

My point is that there is a reason he isn't making enough of an impression that they are getting him playing time or giving him reason to believe he will have it in the future.

He might be a pretty good QB. On the other hand he may also be another guy who doesn't live up to his recruiting expectations. I'd rather us bring in a freshman than somebody else's washout.
