Does not seem opposed to going out of state at this juncture. He wants to major in engineering.

I know it's very early, but it's great to read about a South Carolina DT who has the Buffs in his top 4 and mentions us first:

Colorado: "They've been talking to me a lot, and I think I'm going to try to go out there for spring practice."

No kidding. A kid from South Carolina with offers from Illinois, CU, Tennessee and Texas Tech, but no offers from Clemson or South Carolina. Very weird.

I mean, if he's interested in Engineering - CU needs to be up there in the mix, I think that and Georgia Tech.. Here's to hoping the Buffs stay in the hunt!

As long as he's happy. Really unusual decision.

Strange decision, but Miami (OH) has a little momentum going right now. Coming off a 10 win season in which they won the MAC and a bowl game. Kid clearly had academics in mind, so there probably was something about the school he liked in that regard (and it is a good school). You would have thought with a decent amount of BCS conference offers he would have gone that route, but early playing time is always attractive. Surprised neither Clemson nor the Cocks extended an offer to an in-state 3 star guy such as this - S.C. doesn't produce a ton of talent. There are good players coming out of the state but simply not enough in numbers (sound familiar?). Clemson and SC have always had to go recruiting hard in FL, GA, NC, VA

Eh, it's not a bad school but I don't think it's good enough that you can site it's academics as a recruting advantage, especially in this case with DeLeon also having offers from Duke, Wake Forest, and Tulane.
