'13 CA RB Michael Adkins (Signed to Colorado)

Interesting film. He doesn't look like he's shifty or runs very fast, but all he does is make people miss and then outrun everyone on the defense. He makes it look effortless. Pretty impressive.

Runs fairly upright, but has great balance and vision, with a good measure of speed in the open field for his size.

His senior highlights are now up.

Senior highlights confirm my earlier comments: Upright runner, good vision---looks for the cut-back opportunities, good balance---does not go down on first contact, more than adequate speed in the open field.

Based on offers, must have great academics, continuing the CU tradition that recruits be able to actually, you know, READ? (unlike every SEC school not named "Vanderbilt").

Kid is a nice get, if he signs.

Really like his highlights! Good speed, great vision and cuts. His abilities should translate well to the college game.

I really like how he gets up to speed quickly and goes north-south. He's going to be especially dangerous in the passing game.

Nice ! I think this is going to be our sleeper of the group... Nice commit welcome aboard young Man !

Those HL's are much better. Displays good vision and balance. He doesn't really have breakaway speed but seemed faster his SR year. Looks like a solid pick-up, plus he played in the pistol

He has a nice burst. Looks like he can accelerate when there is a hole for him. Also did a nice job of keeping balance and running through tackles.

Also nice that he has played in the pistol, already.

HCMM mentioned his track numbers. Didn't know the kid was that fast.

Also, love the fact that he is a quick-strider. Might lack top end speed, but this allows him successfully break tackles and cut. Could be a steal.

HCMM reported after today's mini-scrimmage that Adkins busted a long run and is quite fast.

New Rivals article published today:

Speed runs in his family. His father ran track in college at UNLV and San Diego State.

The younger Adkins clocked in at 10.8-seconds in the 100-meter dash, 22.2 in the 200 and 50.48 in the 400 during his sophomore year of high school before giving up track to focus on football.
