Rivals has an article on CU commit Josh Scott's younger brother today.

    Also, from the Denver Post:

pretty impressive list which means he has some talent. I think his recruiting is going to start blowing up. He plays for the Colorado Miners. We have some seriously tough decisions to make in basketball because for some reason Colorado is really starting to pump out some good basketball talent. Our big decision is do we make headway into these talent rich areas or go after the in-state boys which can put us in a bad position later if the state goes back to its historic levels of low d-1 basketball talent.

Get the best players, win games, and that will help recruiting in the long run. Where they come from is much less important than winning and packing Coors Event Center.

    ^^This^^

Especially in basketball you don't have enough scholly spots to allocate them based on making future possible recruits happy.

Recruits want to go to a place where they have a good experience and a chance to win. Win enough games and you will get the attention of the recruits you want, in state or out of state.

Do you think the coaches had him in mind when recruiting Josh?

Sure. Josh obviously stands on his own as a great player we needed to recruit, but they were certainly aware of Jordan and will use that connection to try to recruit him too.

Jordan Scott is a good player. Defensively, he looks like a game changer. After ESPN updated their format, i believe he is now ranked the 29th or so SF in the class. They gave him a strong scouting report as well. I'd be surprised if CU doesn't make a strong push for him as 2013 gets closer...

The main weakness I hear about him is his handle. Any idea how that's coming along? It sounds like right now he'd be an undersized 4 who provides great D but is a bit of a liability on offense (I'm thinking Renaldo Balkman without the constant high). Does that sound accurate to you?

I think you've got it pretty accurate. I wouldn't say a liability as much as a guy that could improve that part of the game (ball handling). After talking to a few people and seeing him a little bit, his jumpshot is now high percentage and is his offense is improving. There is a slight difference in evaluating the now junior class guys to the seniors, because rarely do you find guys that young who don't have something to improve on. And if you do, they are going to Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA... But his defense is as good as it gets for his age, and at his size he is extremely versatile. I think its just a matter of what direction CTB wants to go with his remaining scholarships and how well he thinks Scott would fit into his system.

The D is definitely intriguing, and I think it's something that the staff is going to put a premium on. I know Coach T tweeted this morning that the best way to win in college ball is recruiting & defense, so you may be on to something.

Goose, I missed it in your earlier post, but I think Jordan is very likely to be a SF offensively.

All reports on various sites (Hoopstracker etc) of him having a CU offer are false. Nice player, but he is not a #1 option.

As a sophomore, those things were not out of bounds about Josh. Hopefully Jordan makes the same sort of strides over the next year.

I don't think anyone is claiming that he is a #1 option, if that’s what you are insinuating (I don't think you are). And there probably aren't too many current juniors with a committable offer from CU. The one's that do have offers are certainly high on their board.

I used to read hoopstracker and I wouldn't consider too much on there to be fact either. I think it's fair to say CU is interested in Jordan and they are following him very closely just as a handful of other big time schools are.

Source is me lol not to be an arrogant ass, just saying.

And COHoops, definitely not trying to say that people thought he was. I've posted on CHT for a little over 6 years, some stuff comes through that is helpful but in general it's just parents thinking they know what they're talking about. I put it in my post because Dave Matthews said Jordan had a CU offer, and he doesn't.

ESPN finally ranked him. 3* prospect getting interest from CU, Wake Forest, Boston College, Nebraska & Texas Tech.
