Tabuyo is yet another 2013 prospect out of the Aloha State who figures to garner looks from several BCS schools. He is a true speedster, as he finished 2nd in the 100 meters at the Hawaii State Meet with a 10.84 time. We have been in contact.

Would prefer our WR to be a bit taller although he could still grow. But man is he fast. His acceleration is wicked and the other think I like about him from his videos is that he goes all out all the time and doesn't let up when he is already behind the defense.

Can't teach speed, and it doesn't matter how tall you are, that type of speed can cause mismatches against a defense.

In some of the first highlights, a few of the catches were "with the body". Later plays showed him catching with his hands a bit more. Also difficult to see his route running skills -- that team seems to like the bubble screen. Of course, catching and route-running are coachable.

We haven't done as well in Hawaii as I thought we would lately. Not sure a Hawaii WR is what I had in mind when thinking prospects from hawaii but I like guys who run 4.45's or less.

I don't think we were all that enamored with the 2012 Hawaiian preps. Supposed to be better in 2013.

Tabuyo had a knee injury late in his junior season, which has slowed recruiting. He is running track again though and while the speed is a little off (11.24 is his best this year), still showing off some speed.

    Our WR recruiting is weird.

It surprises me when aTm leaves the state for mid-level prospects. I don't agree with that for them.

That is an interesting get for the Aggies. Maybe they are just trying to lay some groundwork up there so they can get in on the OL/DL prospects that come out each year.

Perhaps but why would they need to? Not really hard to find OL/DL prospects in Texas and the whole southeast for that matter. It should only enhance their ability to do that being in the SEC.

    SEC = speed

I think they'll take it wherever they can get it in these transitional years.

You never know where the next 5 star lineman is going to come from. Maybe they figured this guys speed is equivelant to a bunch of guys they can pull from Texas in any year so they decided to lay some groundwork elsewhere. It's just a thought.

It's most likely that Jeremy graded out higher than the rest of the guys on their list.

Tabuyo is having a solid senior season and seems to be recovering well from the ACL injury. He has over 600 yards receiving and 9 TDs.

We need more speed at WR.

So.. Texas A&M has apparently fully embraced SEC recruiting and has 34 commitments this cycle with 5 early signees. They also have 5 WR commitments along with 5 more athletes with a few likely to play WR.

I really hope we reach out and offer him and teammates Colton Goeas and Reeve Koehler a place to play. Goeas and Koehler were Tennessee commits, but the coaching change has them looking around with Arkansas being a possible landing spot (the OL coach at Tenn who recruited them got hired at Arky by Bielema).

To add to WR's post, we might want to reach out to Tabuyo. A&M picked up another 4* WR commit yesterday and Tabuyo may be left out in the cold.

scout listing a visit to A&M from Sebastian Larue as well on the 18th. Tabuyo is clearly an afterthought for them, hopefully he sees it sooner rather than later.

A cynical person would say it's better for us if he sees it later. Good thing we don't have any of those types around here.

At least one aTm commit is seeing things the way we've been looking at them. Qunicy Adeboyejo, a 3* receiving prospect out of Texas has decommitted from the Aggies per ESPN (he is also listed as having a Colorado offer).

A&M is beating out Georgia who has 29 commits and 13 (what the hell) early enrollees, and BYU also with 29.

How the hell are we almost done with 13 commits and these places are hauling in entirely new teams? Their attrition must be absurdly high.
