Kearsley is a big time player out of Oregon who might end up being among the most highly recruited offensive lineman on the west coast. He committed last fall to BYU, but intends to take several unofficial visits and all five official visits. He is a versatile player and could play either guard or tackle at the next level. Look for his stock to soar this spring.

He is easily one of the best offensive linemen I have seen in this class.

From a Nov '11 Scout interview, I thought this was kind of funny:

Kearsley isn’t taking the Duck bait.

“It’s like, ‘Dude, you’re not going to buy me with your freaking facilities!' You’re not going to buy me with your nice buildings, and that’s not how it works with me. I'm not looking at how nice your facilities are and then going to base my future on that.’ They keep saying, ‘Come look at our facilities,’ and ‘We have world class facilities.’ Well, cool! But you’re not going to buy me to go to your program.

Mods, can we make it so we can rep recruits? Or is that a violation of NCAA policy?

Like to have this guy. He can play and obviously has a head on his shoulders.

Visiting us along with several other PAC-12 schools this summer. Hope we can make an impression because I think he is one of the top OL prospects on the west coast.

Aloha (not pronounced like hello in hawaii, btw. emphasis is on the "o") is not a great program traditionally but they play against serious competition. They did just lose their coach so I'm not sure what's going to happen with them next year. Kearsley's teammate, Thomas Tyner, is a top rated rb who does seem to be impressed by the Duck's facilities.

Do we know if BYU has a religious advantage or not?

I suspect they do. LDS is very strong around Portland.

Yeah, he is LDS. Possibly early graduate, not sure if he intends to go on a mission.
