Given what we have hears about HCMM only making offers to kids he thinks we have a shot at, I wonder if there is more to the story than what Biggins knows.

The WR recruiting is a bit confusing to me.

With Petersen jumping to Washington... what are the odds that Modster flips to CU (his only other offer per rivals.) The Buffs badly need some height in the WR corps.

Per Rivals they only have about 7 commits so far and none of them are WR. That seems crazy low for commit numbers this late in the process.

We need big and fast WR's. The DD Goodson model is of little use.

There is a use for quick shifty shorter receivers even in the NFL. The issue is not at WR. They have to go head to head with physical, fast and taller corners and that is not good. I remember the INT Sefo through going to DD on an out (I think that was Utah?). DD may have had some room but the dude covering him was like a foot taller (at least it looked that way), and DD was not going to win that jump ball.

DD types can be great on screens and quick crossing routes, etc. I would not count him out, or Ross for that matter as contributors next year. But we need some taller, physical faster wideouts.

^^ this ^^ and more than just a couple. Look at Fresno St. they are loaded at the WR position, all are taLL and fast. You need many to cull out the bad ones and the good ones to push the better ones.

There are exceptions to every rule. In the NFL, there are actually very few exceptions. All else equals, height is better than not.

Good point above about Fresno State, BuffUp. I don't know how many stars their kids have, but they have a stable of tall, fast ballers at WR.
