    Nice.

Looks like another good shooter with excellent court awareness.

Kennedy Leonard (Southlake, Texas), United Elite: This 5-8 point guard has the two mandatory skills to play the traditional lead guard roll vision and passing. She loves to have the ball in her hands but she isn't the type to spend a lot of time over-dribbling. She comes off the ball screen well and has the ability and confidence to fit the ball into tight spaces. She will use a dribble or two on the wing to improve passing angles in to the post or to setup a cutter. She did get caught dribbling into the heart of the defense without room to finish and nowhere to dish the ball. In time she'll learn when she can get all the way to the rim and when she needs to pull up. But with her ability to get her teammates the ball, she is one to watch in 2015.

I can't think of a time when the bball program, mens OR womens, got an early commitment ( player not a senior).

Nice job by the coaches. Her film is great, and she has good size for a point. Excellent.

The night the team called season ticket holders, Assistant Coach Kelly Rae said they were really working on point guards. I thought the one they signed that day was the PG she was talking about. Little did I know!

Kennedy tweeted today that she gets her braces off tomorrow!

Come on, BeBe. If she's this good now, could you imagine if she was about to have a Forrest Gump moment and learn to run free?

As a sophomore? Damn. Impressive numbers. Sounds like a great get for Lappe & Co.

I am really surprised that she committed so early, even though I knew that she had shown a lot of interest. Great player and a real good start to the 2015 class.

This young lady is a true blue chipper and a very experienced high caliber player. Playing club ball for Cy Fair, she has faced elite competition, not only in the Texas area but also on the national level. I knew that she was favoring CU, but I also knew she was being pursued by the likes of Baylor, Stanford, Texas and Texas A&M. From what I hear, she is also a high character girl, which we know is a big item for Coach Lappe and her staff. What I really like is that getting a verbal from such a high profile player will bring attention from other prospects who may be noticing the improvement in CU's program. Let's just pray that she stays with the commit until next fall when it is time for her class to sign.

If she committed to CU with interest from Baylor, Stanford, etc., that's HUGE get for us.

Here's one version of who she was looking at (from ProspectsNation) "Leonard, a 5-foot-8 combo guard, chose the Pac-12 school after considering Baylor, Florida, Iowa State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Princeton and Stanford, among others"

This girl is really, really good. When I watched the video I didn't realize she was just a sophomore. And the interest from Baylor and Stanford? Great get, especially so early! Just her commitment can help influence other good players to commit. And people were a little worried about Lappes recruiting? (me included) Everytime we worry about her recruiting she comes up with a huge commitment. This one maybe the biggest so far for Lappe!

I have this feeling Lappe is going to end up doing great things at CU, and with as young as she is we may have sustained success for a long time. Being her alma mater, I really don't see her jumping ship unless the opportunity was just too good to pass up.

Lappe said this was her dream job. I have no idea of what another dream job might be for her in the future, but if she continues to get players of this caliber and goes deep in to the NCAA tournament, CU will have to find more $ to keep her.

My guess is that for Linda this job goes beyond the pay. Having said that, besides salary CU has very good facilities, maybe better than most schools that might go after her in the future. I am pointing this out as it makes the recruiting a bit easier and of course gives the team more latitude when scheduling practice times.

Not to mention what many of the recruits have said over the years--Boulder is beautiful.

Serious question; does this matter more to the average female athlete than is does to the guys?

I'm starting to think that the beauty of the campus and city were overplayed in the minds of fans in terms of recruiting to the point where there's been a backlash and now that aspect is underplayed. When recruits visit CU for the first time, it's impactful. There's definitely a "wow" factor that immediately delivers the message that it would be a special place to spend your college years.

Not that it's going to overcome having a terrible program with terrible facilities, but if CU athletics has its **** together then the beauty really helps to close.

That just reminded me...I know a couple that I went to school with in Estes Park and the mother had the first kid when she was still in high school...and now they are in high school....time has gone fast.

I love how both basketball programs are recruiting Texas hard...hope the football staff takes notice.
