Interesting article I found from January of 2014 (while Rogers was at Culver City HS): http://www.culvercityobserver.com/s...culver-football-star-may-be-leaving/3447.html

In an unrelated development, there's speculation among the high school sports media that the father of Culver quarterback Armani Rogers, former National Football League linebacker Sam Rogers, could become a high school head coach in the near future.

There's no indication that Armani Rogers would transfer, but with Norman apparently leaving even the possibility creates nervous moments around Culver.

Now, if we're talking about Sam Rogers... might we be talking about former CU linebacker Sam Rogers who was drafted by the Bills in the 2nd round back in 1994?

If you take a look at Armani's twitter account, Charles Clark is following him.

Other tidbits: Armani was named the Western League player of the year as a junior in 2014 by the LA Times. LINK

MaxPreps only had 5 games on him, with Armani completing 67.5% of his passes and rushing for 5 YPC. LINK

After watching the highlights (touch on the deep ball, arm strength to the sideline, scrambling, zone read running), Armani is my favorite potential CU quarterback among those targets I'm aware of.

Wikipedia only finds one former NFL linebacker named Sam Rogers. Any chance Mac 1 can pick up the phone and talk to dad?

Hard to get a blue chip QB to commit to CU, even being a legacy, unless he feels he could be a key missing link to get us bowling and beyond. I would think the early part of the season (where we have a legit chance to sweep the OOC) would be important.

I would think that a lot of blue chip QBs have this thought process based on never, or rarely, failing in the past. Most are going to have a big enough ego that they feel they could carry a program. I would think it would be very appealing for a blue chip QB to be the next RGIII.

He would be well-suited to reconsider.

This kid is a flat out baller. Many will try to flip him but he's well suited to Cal's offense. Slated to enter Cal when Goff should be turning Pro. Good pick up Bears!

Read AllBuffs Code regarding usage of puns. I even italicized it.

Looks like Cal picked up another QB, Max Gilliam, a pro-style QB out of Oaks Christian.

He's still in the mix but I think they want him to get bigger. I think they considered a RS year for him but he decided to try out safety instead and then promptly picked off a bunch of Goff's passes in practices . I believe he's injured right now but he'll definitely play somewhere on the field if not at QB in the future. The kid is fast and competitive as well as a fan favorite.

UCLA offered and I think Cal picked up another QB so definitely something to watch.

Decommitted from Cal, waiting for options to open up now. Would be a great fit.

Yeah he seems like exactly the type this offense needs.

Yeah, you should get after him. Good luck. **** fUCLA!

You should show him the Flatirons on shrooms or invite him to visit during early December. What could go wrong?

I kind of got the impression the Cal coaches wanted to go a different direction since UCLA already has a QB committed. He said it was a mutual parting which usually means the coaches encouraged him to look elsewhere.

Also a chance that UCLA snags him and it pushes Dymond Lee to CU.

I climbed the Flatirons one night after drinking a bunch or shroom expresso. Only problem was that it started to wear off after I got near the top and I lost my shroom night vision. I came close to sliding off the rock and into oblivion, but reached out and grabbed a tree at the last second.

Kinda reminds me of Cal this year and Goff's Heisman campaign.

Cal with close wins this year over WSU, UW, and Texass, could very easily be 2-5, with 5 straight losses. While they have much better athletes across the board as their roster never got to the lows ours did during their down time, they are also probably looking at a pretty tough finish ahead. The division is good, but I don't see a great team unless Stanford can continue to roll this way against tough competition.
