    3-0 Hawaii
Hawaii with the ball on CU's 39
    1st and 10 1:04 left to play
    Foul start Offense -5 yards
1st and 15 on the 44 yard line
Ball snapped with 44 sec left
CU blitz Mahnke sacked Moniz for 5 yard loss
2nd and 20 on 49 yard line end of Quarter
CU blitz Hartigan with a sack for a loss of 8 yards
3rd and 28 on Hawaii 43 Yard line
Moniz pass to 80 for 7 yard gain Orms with a huge tackle
4th and 21 on Hawaii 49 yard line.

At this point crowd is quite and CU has the momentum in the game.

Hawaii Punts, Richardson fair catch on the CU 21 Yard line

1st and 10 from CU 21 Yard line with 13:26 left in the 2nd Quarter
Stewart with a run off on right side for 17 yard gain to the 36 yard line.
You can see momentum starting to build.
Holding is called on Bahr Play is called back
1st and 20 from CU 11 yard line
Stewart run up the middle for a 4 yard gain to the CU 15 yard line
2nd and 16 from the CU 15 yard line
Richardson with a diving catch to the 30 yard line
Play is called back because of illegal procedure. Prior to the play you can see Richardson and Bahr yelling at Clemons to get up on the line of scrimmage. Not doing so, Richardson does come up to line so they have enough men on the line of scrimmage and then Clemons does, Richardson has to back off and you have the illegal procedure for too many men moving at once. Embo yells at Kennedy saying something like "I'll tell you what, if you don't have those mother ****er ________, your ****ing fired" and you can see him mouth "****ing 17". Clemons does not see the field for the rest of the day.
2nd and 21 from the CU 9 yard line
Hansen floats a 30 yard pass about 10 yards out of bounds
3rd and 21 from the CU 9 yard line
Stewart with a 5 yard run to the 15 yard line
Bahr missed his block on this play or Stewart would have had at least another 8-10 yards and possibly a 1st down. Important to note that the CU O-Line looked great up until this point in the game. Obvious that running 5 plays without gaining ground took its toll on the O-Line. The Hawaii crowd is starting to get back into the game and the Offense looks dejected.
4th and 16 from the CU 14 yard line
O'Neill with a great boot to the Hawaii 43 yard line fair caught

Hawaii 1st and 10 on their own 43 yard line 10:49 left to play in the 2nd Quarter
Moniz fakes hand off to the right and runs up the middle for a 57 yard touchdown. 10-0 Hawaii.
Hartigan over persues Moniz and misses tackle which the announcers catch. What they don't catch is Polk competely out of position. He runs up about 7 yards off the line of scrimmage, stops (you can tell he thinks the play is dead) and actually gets in the way of Uzo-Diribe who is trying to make a play while being held. This is the turning point of the game IMO.

Just three guys making three mistakes was enough to totally swing the direction of this game IMO. (Clemons, Bahr and Polk). Unfortunatly, this team is one that gets down a lot quicker than they get up and is not good enough to overcome a few mistakes. This will take some time to change. Whatever the case may be, CU actually played a great game until that first Off. poss. in the 2nd Quarter.

    Just wanted to share.

I think Embo is too. Watched him run a bunch this fall in practice for dropping balls and being out of place. He has a real negitive attitude towards this staff and just doesn't seem to care.

Nicely done, max. That sequence of plays very much set the tone for the game and pretty much everything that occurred was because of things CU did to itself, not as a result of Hawaii making something happen.

That was kind of where I was going with things. The O-line is great when things are going great. They just don't seem to respond to adversity. I don't think you can blame them though when they are playing great and plays are getting negated because of stupid mistakes.

And just for the record, that holding call was a horse-bleep call!

Yeah thought it was ticky tack but get your hands outside the framework you set yourself up for it. Bahr didnt even need to hold on that play Speedy already had the corner, thats whats frustrating. I saw HA VY II do much worse tho lol.

we were only 3 plays away.

just have to get our horns out and bring our lunch pails and such.

    ok, low blow, i admit...

actually, i think this sequence really does show how little margin for error we have with this team. we just don't have enough superstar guys to overcome ****ups. if they execute better, the team should be in position to compete in most of their games this year, but we really seem to lack playmakers.

Clemons is the most frustrating type of player to me. He has alot of physical ability but yet he seems content to piss it away. The light shouldnt come on when your senior year has already started. Granted maybe their situations are a little different, I dont really know for sure, but wish Obi would smack some sense into him. Im going by what ive read and heard about Clemons if Im wrong about him, apology in advance.

The phrase "looks great in shorts" applies here. Still time for it to change. I'm rooting for him.

Very nice analysis, Max. Truth be told though, there are a lot of guys who have to be held accountable, even in just that sequence you describe. And even after all of that, the score is still just 10-0 with a lot of football left.

Agree with everything but the OL looking great in the 1st quarter. The run blocking was a mixed bag. Miller and our frosh center both pancaked people on a couple plays, but the rest of the line was getting blown up from the first snap. What I saw was Stewart turning what should have been 2-3 yard nothing plays into decent gains. The pass blocking on the other hand was the worst I've ever seen over the course of an entire game from a CU team. Hansen maybe got to set his feet and throw 3 or 4 times. The rest of the time, he had to try and throw while backpedaling furiously to avoid getting trampled by his own OL.

Not saying the mistakes weren't big (and safety play probably cost our D at least 2 TDs), but we really lost the game in the trenches. Hawaii's line outplayed ours on both sides of the ball except for a stretch in the 3rd quarter.

agreed. The few times that hansen got his feet set he actually did look good, he had zip on the throws, was accurate. But he didnt get many of those throws...

I'm not done with Clemmons. I hope that dude steps the **** up. All he needs is that click and then it's better for him and the buffs as a team. It starts in practice and coaches will be looking for it from him.

I hope you're right, but it's his last season here, if it hasn't happened yet, it probably wont. I expect Mucholloch to be the guy this week. Or Gray, where was he last Saturday?

Guy has talent and showed flashes last year but the effort doesn't seem to be where it should be.

He's shown flashes every year, but he's a senior now. He consistently leaves his head out of the game.

BTW I did see Gray thrown too once during the game, was near the sideline and he didnt catch it. Not sure about the rest of the time, Would be disappointing if he doesnt step up his game, he has the talent.

As for Clemons, until I see production that matches his skill he can ride the pine...
