It’s a bit of a non sequitur, but to this day, and for as long as I can remember, every time I see someone sporting a ewe shirt, a ewe bumper sticker, really anything ewe-y, this runs through my mind and I cannot help myself. I mutter it almost, but not quite, inaudibly to myself. Just being honest.

**** CSU. You know how I know that entire town doesn’t give a ****? I’ve been in Fort Collins recently for work multiple times. I’ve gone all over town in a Buffs hat and not a single soul has even said a word to me. I’ve even tried to engage banter and no one cares.
Way to act like you’ve been there. Now I know why the sheep still try to start fights with women at Mile High.

there is a John Madden story about how he got some linemen to be more agressive. His rational was that d-linemen are big guys who used to be little guys so they brought their agressiveness with them as they grew. O-linemen were always big guys who grew up always being told to be careful not to hurt anyone, so they, as a rule, lacked agressiveness. So he gave his o-linemen a dummy to beat on. And they did. they took it everywhere and as they beat on it more they got more aggressive and successful as linemen.

Maybe the lammies heard that story too.

It's a huge video upgrade from this timeless classic. Clearly CSU has invested that McElwain payout cash in its video dept.

Also, I'd like to point out that my browser identifies 'CSU' as a possible misspelling, and right-click recommends 'CU' as a possible replacement.

WTF? Is this real? What an embarrassment.

The CSU post-spring depth chart is out.

As expected, the offensive line is essentially rebuilt after significant losses due to graduation, and has almost zero game experience. I expect the Auburn WR transfer (former 5/star) to grab a starting spot in fall camp. Hill will be the starting QB, who isn’t mobile and playing behind a green set of linemen. At RB, McElroy is the starter, expect Marvin Kinsey to be 1b starter, although he is injured and not on the depth chart. Kinsey has some moves, but likes to fumble. McBride is solid at TE.

The defensive line and linebackers are pretty much as expected. Really young last year that now have a year of seasoning under their belt. The secondary features two players listed at 5’8”, so there should be opportunity to take advantage of that match up with CUs bigger WRs if that holds into fall camp.

I know Utah brought some MMA guys in to teach some basic hand fighting to their line men. But I’m at a loss for what football or life skills beating on a dummy on the ground teaches.
The fact that this video exists and was released shows they have a video crew that maybe should keep the focus on animal husbandry. It would be funny if all of you Colorado taxpayers weren’t paying for their new empty stadium.

I mean, it's a good drill for stamina and learning ground and pound, but I'm not sure it serves any purpose for football.

An MMA inspired drill that would make more sense would be taking a sledgehammer to a tire.

I think martial arts, wrestling, boxing, etc can all be extremely valuable for creating mental toughness, controlled aggression, physical stamina, etc. However, straddling a bag and punching it is not teaching or instilling any of those qualities, so yeah, it's really ****ing stupid and pretty much sums up CSU football in general.
