As with the other more "individual" sports, thought I'd set up this thread to report on notable results for the indoor track and field men's and women's teams throughout the regular season, as the 1st meet (or possibly meets?***) are scheduled for later this week. It will also be used for any other general news that pops up during the season regarding the teams and any of their individuals.
(I will set up a separate thread for the NCAA Championships (scheduled for 3/11-12/2022). Typically, I also do a separate thread for conference (in this sport MPSF) championships, but looks like there's none scheduled this season. There IS a Pac 12 Invitational before the NCAA's; if it seems like Coach Wetmore and the rest of the team seem to be emphasizing it, I may also set up a separate thread for it.)
The team starts action this Friday at the Air Force Academy, followed by a trip to Laramie next Friday. There are 2 home meets scheduled (at the IPF), with the Potts Invitational 1/14-15, and the Colorado Invitational 1/28-29.
(***There is also a BIG meet for distance runners this Saturday (12/4) at Boston U., where it's traditional for many top NCAA title contenders (although I can't remember any Buffs running there before) to use their peak shape from the recently completed cross country championships to earn NCAA T & F Championships qualifying times in the longer races (5000M and 3000M) at the VERY fast BU track before they take their typical post XC Championship season break and then begin again with a new training cycle for the NCAA's. I saw a post by a couple random posters on Letsrun that indicate, at minimum, CU's Eduardo Herrera may (???) be running the 5000M this year at that meet, but there are no official entry lists to confirm this.)
Full Schedule:
(Note- as I often like to point out, my recollection is that track and field is much more likely to add or subtract meets from their schedule than other sports, even after the season begins.)

Mainly copying from a prior year's thread, an explanation of how qualifying for the NCAA Championships works for the indoor track and field season:
Unlike outdoors, there are no regional championships run to choose who advances. It's merely-
- Individually, it's just the athletes who earn the top 16 times or marks during the qualifying period who accept the invitation to go to the championships for that event.
- For relays, it's the teams with the top 12 times who accept a bid.
- Note that there are adjustments made for (1) altitude and (2) facility rating. (An Altitude conversion app and facility conversion factor document can be found in the next link below.)
