Amazing to me how the journalist just takes that absurd number at face value.
journalists are now trained to take what the subject of the article says and post it without responsibility in order to avoid critical thinking. It's endemic.

Jay Norvell left one Mountain West head coaching job for another Mountain West head coaching job because they doubled his salary and have better resources. He also took the best players with him and left Nevada for dead. While some of what he says is true, I have no sympathy for hypocrites like him

It's been too much to keep track. Entering the season, I think we had 11 seniors. Then we learned that around 13 scholarships were never used, so the baseline was approximately 24 new guys + attrition openings. I think it's been 5 or 6 portal defections from scholarship players.

His rushing stats are the first row and I was wondering why we were going after a kid with 8 catches for 44 yards last year. Scroll to the right and it's 108 catches! They don't get anymore productive than that!

I think that’s exactly right, get the stats, then get the bag.
Others will pay you more to be a starter than Georgia will pay you to be a depth or rotation piece.
Between the transfer portal and 12 team playoff, I think the talent dispersion is going to be pretty wide, leading to more consistent parity than we've probably seen in college football.
