    1) Our Oline just plain sucks. How does a true freshman completely own us? #85 for MU made our O-line look like girl scouts all game long. I don't care how big our guys are up front. Their technique suck and they are horrible in picking up their assignments. Solder got beat so bad to the inside on one play that he was left falling to the ground. Youth does not explain the O-line problem. We have not had an O-line coach at CU in a while, and we still do not have one.
    2) The call to go for it on 4th down at the 10 was the right call. Play selection was ****ing horrible. You need 1/2 a yard. Get to the line, go silent count and QB sneak the damn thing. Your line has been dominated all game long, do not give them time to set and find the gaps on run. Stupid call.
    3) Why do we always seem to find away to take momentum away from ourselves. I know MU owned us, but there was a point toward the end of the third where things were rolling and going well and we just can't get over the hump. Not making the 4th down. The INT on the very next series. These are the things the good teams do not do. If you manage to get a TD and 2 points on either of those drives, you at least have shot in this game.

    ****!

My wife and her freind just looked at me like I lost my mind on the 4th down play. A half a foot and we take the ball backwards 5 yards. Smart. Real smart. Ok, I did lose my mind on that one.

Oh yeah, and the Girl Scouts called and said they will come over there and kick your ass if you EVA compare them to our OL again.

Chilly, don't you think Hawkins needs more time?

For some reason because I don't come on here a resort to calling Hawkins names are throwing him under the bus, it is equal to thinking he is doing a good job on game day.

For some reason some on this board have a hard time understanding my position. The best thing for CU football would be for this coaching staff to start winning on the field. That does not mean I think they are capable of doing that. I will also always support what Hawkins has done for our program off the field and I will ALWAYS cheer for someone like Hawkins to succeed.

I will also continue to think that this team, talent wise, will be very good next year with the right mix of leadership and young talent.

Just because I respect Hawkins for how he has set the bar high for our kids and I think he has the right approach to how he is trying to build this program, does NOT mean I think he is getting it done on game day. Many of his decisions on game day, leave me wondering WTF.

As far as giving him 1 more year. Yes, I think that he has done enough good things outside of game day, that I would like to see him have 1 full recruiting cycle to get the job done here at CU. That also does not mean that I have alot of confidence that he will get it done right now.

Anyone remember the Independence bowl and how he got EVERY player on the team to show up to do some charity work. Anyone remember how the sponsors of that event were floored that he got that to happen? These things should not be overlooked when deciding if someone should be given the opportunity to see things through.

My simple requestion required just this simple answer. You didn't really have to write that book, but I appreciate the response.

Might want to copyright it, though.

Any chance A&M tries a fake punt against us? Odds are pretty good they'll convert it. Just watch KU and Mizzou tapes on us.

He has done some good things off the field, but he is paid over $1 Million a year to WIN football games. We aren't Baylor or ISU, we are one of the top 25 all time programs in college football with all the corresponding championships and awards sitting in our trophy case. We have NEVER in well over 100 years of football had 4 straight losing seasons, and now we are staring down the first one, all 4 years in the tenure of this coach. Historical facts show that he is the poorest coach in CU history, thus that you are dead wrong, he doesn't deserve another day. He has had his chance and we have been very patient. We haven't asked for the world either, just show improvement both on the field and modest improvement in the win column, and we are happy as can be. He doesn't deserve spit, and we still have to pay this guy millions to walk away from this trainwreck(cue the picture).

 Chilly just values some things about Hawk more than most of us. Trust me I've tried to figure him out. From what I can tell, he wants CU to be a dominant football team as much as anyone. He also thinks what Hawk does off the field warrants more respect than he gets.

His off the field stuff isn't the issue anymore. He's done good work there. 15-30, he has not earned the right to coach another year. Make hawk an AD or put him in charge of marketing CU but you can't honestly say he has earned to coach another year based on his record. Charity work is why he should coach another year?

This would not fly at most programs.

I can respect that but it doesn't earn him the right to keep losing every week and year. His on the field performance is atrocious and that's the bottom line and you know that.

Not only do they stupidly call the hand off on the 4th down play....but they call a slow developing draw play to the smallest RB & player on our team :wow:

As if other teams/players didn't do charity work under different coaches! They just didn't advertise it.

i agree with both points 1000%. right decision, terrible call. we have less than 5 yards rushing all day and we hand the ball off deep out of the I. of course, they get penetration in all gaps and we don't even get close to converting.

QB sneak is the only call there.

Don't forget never taking accountability for not having his team ready to play, reading e-mails of how much support you have from outsiders and all these supposed head coaches. Telling people every week that the fans have never sacrificed. The list goes on and on and chilly's new excuse is for hawk to have a full recruiting cycle  Hmmm..4 years isn't enough I guess.

Take a look around the country at first year head coaches at programs who aren't thought much of and look at hawk in year 4. Iowa state, temple and duke will be going to bowls,cu will not, but since hawk is such a niiiiice guy(except with the fans who support cu football) he should get to continue to bring this program further into the quicksand.:wow:

No, I am very clear on my stance and have been from the day Hawkins was hired.

I remember very well. It's all very simple. You can win and get everyone to show up for charity work or you can lose and get everyone to show up for charity work. I'll take the win part.

Yep, he's paid to win football games, not to be an events coordinator.

It's the bottom line for every coach in college football, results. Like I said I respect your stance but you seem more concerned about hawk than you do the players and this program.

This program is much bigger than hawk and has become worse since he got here on the field. Like I said, make him the head of marketing and getting the community involved but using that as a reason to keep him around while our football program sinks further into the abyss is ludicrous.
