StatSheet's Pac-12 Player of the Week for March 4th goes to Eric Wise from USC. UCLA's Kyle Anderson has won StatSheet's Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. Wise tallied a strong showing in shooting (50%), rebounding (5.5 per game), and scoring (17 pts per game). The USC senior put these numbers up in victories against 11th ranked Arizona and Arizona State.
Wise led all scoring for the Trojans with 22 points on 75% shooting in an 89-78 shocker over Arizona. That was followed by a team-leading 12 points plus an additional 2 assists in a narrow 57-56 victory against Arizona State.
This is the first StatSheet Pac-12 Player of the Week honor for Eric Wise. However, he has received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is junior Roberto Nelson from Oregon State. Honorable mention goes to our own Andre Roberson.
StatSheet Pac-12 Freshman of the Week: UCLA's Kyle Anderson
Kyle Anderson averaged 36 minutes while starting both games for UCLA. He was number one among all Pac-12 freshmen in both rebounding (11.0 per game) and free throws (4.5 per game). In a late 79-74 win over Arizona State, Anderson led all rebounding for the Bruins with 15 and added 4 blocked shots. Then in a thin 74-69 win against Arizona, he dialed up 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Amazingly, Kyle Anderson has won the StatSheet Pac-12 Freshman of the Week 3 times. The runner-up is Jahii Carson from Arizona State. Honorable mention goes to Shabazz Muhammad from UCLA. Xavier Johnson was the highest ranking freshman from Colorado and finished 6th. Colorado has one StatSheet Pac-12 Player of the Week win this season.
