Why is it that during the Olympics everyone in the state gets behind Missy Franklin for her great performances (and well deserved).
Yet, if a CU athlete in football or even basketball does well, then there is much teeth mashing?
My favorite hypocrisy?
Western athlete sets WR/does something amazing etc. "What an incredible athlete! What an achievement!"
Eastern athlete sets WR/does something amazing etc. "Oh my god! How did that happen? He/she has to be juiced."
Only eastern commies.

There are non Commie Eastern states which deserve to get taken seriously in the Olympics?
That said, I don't trust the Chinese.
examples please...
Japan? Or are we talking Eastern Europe?
Take the swimmers. Ye Shiwen, Meilutyte v Ledecky, Franklin ... or gymnastics, where everybody questions the age of some of them.

what does age have to do with juicing?
and are you basing your judgment on the nbc coverage of the games? if so, i think you are going to find some western bias in favor of the north american athletes both in coverage and commentary...that is the nature of american journalists.
you already know that jensie, i'm surprised it affects you at all.
I don't know anything about Meilutyte, but I do always question any results from Chinese athletes because they've been caught numerous times systematically cheating as an official government policy (whether government run doping programs or intentionally misrepresenting ages).
I don't question any other nation as a general policy. Sure anyone could be cheating, but I'm only automatically suspicious of Chinese athletes.

Phelps is breaking records left, right and center and nobody even dares to question it in this day and age, where doping is very prevalent. I am not accusing Phelps or anyone else of anything here, trying to belittle his achievements or trying to tear him down, but what would the reaction be if his name wasn´t Michael Phelps and his nationality American, but rather Mikhail Phelvski, the Russian? That´s my only question.
No ****. Phelps is the exception to the rule. The guy eats anything, likes the herb and, according to his teammates, doesn't put in the pool time that they do. I think he is just a freak/savant at swimming.Everyone knows Michael Phelps dopes :canabis:

imagine how good he would be if he still had the effort. To cruise to multiple golds in your THIRD OLYMPICS is just insane.Yeah. It seemed like Phelps used Olympic week to get into meet shape. Unreal.
Usain Bolt also tokes (or toked)
Maybe I am just too cynical.
(FTR, doping in soccer is the biggest taboo discussion I´ve ever seen on any level and I´d LOVE it to be public topic, but nobody dares to touch it. Anywhere)
Other than speeding up recovery time for injuries, I don't see how 'roids or HGH would help soccer players much. Am I missing something?
Jens said "doping". Blood doping is when you use drugs to increase the number of red blood cells -- major boost for aerobic stamina.
