His name was mentioned in a thread a few days ago. Since he was here before me, I don't recall much of him.

I think he was a big-time recruit out of Milwaukee. So why did he leave? Homesickness? Did he feel like he couldn't beat out Purify? Doubt it was the scandal because he transferred a year or two before that broke.

Either way, his transfer was a bummer. He only played at Wisconsin one year, but he tore it up, with 2,000+ yards from scrimmage. Didn't do squat in the NFL though.

gb wanted him to move to wr because at the time we had a good set of rbs.

calhoun didn't want to be a wr. he went where someone would let him be the guy.

    it happens.

I may be wrong but I believe they wanted him to play more of a slot receiver role before he transferred.

His comments after he tore it up at Wisconsin essentially amounted to: "I told you I was supposed to be a running back!"

He would have made a pretty good fullback.

Plus, the coaching he was getting for Pola sucked ass. He rad hard as a freshman then Pola took over and he developed a bad habit of dancing at the LOS all the time. When he went Wisconsin they straitened him out and he was pretty impressive.

I'm surprised the coaches didn't put him at guard

Ahh, but the irony is that he had better odds of making it in the NFL at WR, since he was just as big of a draft flameout as Maurice Clarett.

For some reason, I most remember his first carry in the 2002 Big 12 Championship game, a cutback run that started left and ended up with him going down the right sidelines for a huge gain. He ended up with 120+ yards that game, but dreadful QB and K performances doomed that game. I remember thinking, "Chris Brown may be leaving, but this dude is ready."

He is a talented kid. It was too bad we lost him. He went to a great situation behind a very good offensive line at Wisconsin. I am glad he did well. If a player doesn't want to make a position switch that is their choice. While he didn't finish his career as a Buff, I will remember him as a good player for us while we had him.

I don't think it was Pola, I forget the guy's name but I am pretty sure it wasn't Pola who ran the dance academy.
