The Colorado Buffaloes were lacking in execution tonight as they played their conference opener in Berkeley. On New Years Day the Buffs were feeling the effects of a hangover from their nine-day layoff as they couldn’t shake off the rust while playing the California Golden Bears. The Buffs have begun the Pac-12 season 0-1 with their 79-65 loss.
Below are BSN Denver’s tweets of the game:

Who wants to say it with me? "every possession that scott doesn't touch the ball is a wasted possession"
— JG (@jgisland) January 2, 2016
Thus far it looks like the Buffs forgot to come back from winter break… Yuck
— Abbey Shea (@abbeyshea) January 2, 2016
Pass the ball. Cut with aggression. Get back on defense. Do something. Anything.

#CUBuffs have missed first eight field-goals, turned it over three times & Josh Scott left the court in pain. Disastrous start. Cal up 10-2.

— Matt Sisneros (@Matt_Sisneros) January 2, 2016
The Buffs have come back from a double-digit deficit in all of their road wins this year.
— Ryan Koenigsberg (@RyanKoenigsberg) January 2, 2016
@Shapalicious Hoped for a split on the road trip. More disappointed in general look of confusion we appear to have.

This is why you can never believe those "New year, new me" posts.

We can't hit the broadside of a barn & we're shooting midrange jumpers early in the shot clock? What in Naismith's name is going on here?
— Abbey Shea (@abbeyshea) January 2, 2016
Choosing to believe tonight is more "Cal realizing their potential finally" than "CU crashing to earth". But Sunday is now HUGE.
— James Lucas (@CUGoose) January 2, 2016
Me: Josh Fortune is their only chance. Josh Fortune: *Nails three*

King gets one from deep, cuts the lead to 18 at 65-47. Buffs now 3-of-7 from deep in the 2nd half.

Not gonna create excuses as Cal's the better team, but they also played 3 days ago. CU last played 9 days ago. The rust showed.
— James Lucas (@CUGoose) January 2, 2016
Unfortunately, Cal got out to the fast start and it was over before it even started. Need to fix that on Sunday.

I have unfollowed three people during this game, and 2016 is off to a great start
