The Colorado Buffaloes lost another one possession game today, this time it came in their season finale against the Utah Utes. The score was 20-14 Utah, in this, the 5th edition of the “Rumble in The Rockies” since each team joined the Pac-12. This left the Buffs with a 4-9 record on the season (1-8 in Pac-12 play). In the game, the Buffs and Utes exchanged many turnovers and the fourth QB of the season was used by CU (backup outside linebacker Jaleel Awini.) It was a wild game that saw both Nelson Spruce and Larry Zimmer making their last appearances as members of the Colorado herd. Here are BSN Denver’s tweets of the game.

This tweet is in honor of Zimmer's MBB calls in the 80s. On my alarm clock radio. I passed out every time, but that's not an indictment.

Utah also has a cannon. A relic from their Mountain West days, I presume.

    Dead zone.

The left hash is the only hash that people in Boulder don't like.

    — Ryan Koenigsberg (@RyanKoenigsberg) November 28, 2015

Nelson Spruce just went over 1000 yards on the season

    — Tyler Ziskin (@TZiskBuff) November 28, 2015

Utah is better in the red zone because they wear the color red.

    — Jake Shapiro (@Shapalicious) November 28, 2015

Our red zone offense would be better served if it used @CUBrickBaby

    — Tyler Ziskin (@TZiskBuff) November 28, 2015

Again. I have no words!! #cubuffs

    — Eric Christensen (@cbseric) November 28, 2015

Seriously. The amount of missed opportunities by this team is mind-boggling. Simply mind-boggling. #cubuffs

    — Brian Howell (@BrianHowell33) November 28, 2015

Hahahahahahahahahahah how can you do anything but laugh at this point?

    — Nick Tremaroli (@NickTrem_17) November 28, 2015

CU's red zone offense is a disease with no known cure

    — Dan Lucero (@danluceroshow) November 28, 2015

    ¯(°_o)/¯

    — Corrin (@lovelycorrin) November 28, 2015

How do you blow so many opportunities like this? I don't understand. The worst part is, these aren't mistakes made by the players

    — Jack Barsch (@JackBarsch) November 28, 2015

Just how bad has #CUBuffs' red zone offense been lately? In their last 19 trips to the red zone, #Buffs have only scored 6 touchdowns. Wow.

    — Adam Munsterteiger (@adamcm777) November 28, 2015

#WhichIsWorse, Colorado red-zone offense or Tory Miller's jaw strength?

    — William Whelan (@William_Whelan) November 28, 2015

    #WhichIsWorse, Colorado red-zone offense or @RyanKoenigsberg's puns?

    — William Whelan (@William_Whelan) November 28, 2015

Dave Plati informs us that this is the first game the Buffs have played with snow falling since Iowa State in 2000.

    — Patrick Ghidossi (@patrickghidossi) November 28, 2015

Buffs come up short on a bad snap. Brutal.

    — Patrick Ghidossi (@patrickghidossi) November 28, 2015

    We football bad

    — Benjamin Burrows (@Rumblinbuffalo) November 28, 2015

That was bad, even for us.

    — C-Unit (@CUnitBuffs) November 28, 2015

Every week #CUBuffs find new ways to shoot themselves in the foot. Despite some tackle issues early, #Buffs defense now battling.

    — Adam Munsterteiger (@adamcm777) November 28, 2015

Not sure why you need a timeout to call the same play you've run on 4th and short every time this year.

    — Ryan Koenigsberg (@RyanKoenigsberg) November 28, 2015

That was good, especially for us.

    — C-Unit (@CUnitBuffs) November 28, 2015

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

    — Benjamin Burrows (@Rumblinbuffalo) November 28, 2015

the @cubuffs tackling has been less than stellar today. #CUBuffs

    — Eric Christensen (@cbseric) November 28, 2015

Incredibly heady play by Isaiah Oliver.

    — Ryan Koenigsberg (@RyanKoenigsberg) November 28, 2015

In his last game with #CUBuffs, Jered Bell recovers a fumble, setting the #Buffs up with the ball on the Utah 33.

    — Adam Munsterteiger (@adamcm777) November 28, 2015

Lets score from outside the red zone!!

    — Mateo Martinez (@mateomuhammad) November 28, 2015

The football gods are trying to hand us this game…

    — Matt Sisneros (@Matt_Sisneros) November 28, 2015

Spruce sets CU career record for TD catches with No. 23

    — Neill Woelk (@NeillWoelk) November 28, 2015

CU gonna have a chance to take the lead before the half…somehow that's not a joke.

    — Nick Tremaroli (@NickTrem_17) November 28, 2015

Irwin can't bring it in, he tips it and Utah picks it off, the second INT for Apsay in the first half. #CUvsUTAH

    — Colorado Football (@RunRalphieRun) November 28, 2015

Can't blame Irwin there… that ball shouldn't have been thrown.

    — Adam Munsterteiger (@adamcm777) November 28, 2015

Cade down and slow to get up. I would guess we’ll see Awini next series.

    — Patrick Ghidossi (@patrickghidossi) November 28, 2015

This is why we can't have nice things.

    — Benjamin Burrows (@Rumblinbuffalo) November 28, 2015

Jordan Gehrke in at QB for Buffs

    — Neill Woelk (@NeillWoelk) November 28, 2015

Have I told you I love Jim Leavitt? I love Jim Leavitt

    — Jack Barsch (@JackBarsch) November 28, 2015

Gerhke is a defensive flag whisperer

    — Jeremy Deischer (@roxbombers) November 28, 2015

#sigh we just can't do anything right

    — Benjamin Burrows (@Rumblinbuffalo) November 28, 2015

Tedric Thompson with his third INT of the year to thwart Utah drive.

    — Neill Woelk (@NeillWoelk) November 28, 2015

Listening to Zim, Mark Johnson and @chadbrown94 on the Gameday Stream has been entertaining as hell. One final half for Zim #GoBuffs

Weird wonky football game (technical term) in snowy Salt Lake as #CUBuffs trail #UtahUtes 10-7 at half. pic.twitter.com/2vWtFoLY9o

    — Kami Carmann (@KamiCarmann) November 28, 2015

@Shapalicious impressed with what I saw the last 2 games. Looking forward to next year

    — DaveO (@Buffellow85) November 28, 2015

Buffs should have had Wilson in the backfield, instead he somehow finds Handley for a 28-yard game.

    — Patrick Ghidossi (@patrickghidossi) November 28, 2015

Leads to a 5-yard TD from Joe Williams. Backbreaking moment there for Colorado’s defense. 17-7 Utah.

    — Patrick Ghidossi (@patrickghidossi) November 28, 2015

*mimics Cougs fan* GO BUFFS, WHATEVER!

    — Corrin (@lovelycorrin) November 28, 2015

And that's the ballgame, thanks for coming folks!

    — Benjamin Burrows (@Rumblinbuffalo) November 28, 2015

    Congrats! RT @RunRalphieRun: That's @nspruce22 23rd career TD, breaking a tie with @smcknight21 for CU's all-time leader. #GoBuffs #CUvsUTAH

    — Scotty McKnight (@smcknight21) November 28, 2015

Sefo Liufau had 6 INT in 344 attempts this season. Apsay and Gehrke have 6 INT in 102 combined attempts. #cubuffs

    — Brian Howell (@BrianHowell33) November 28, 2015

Alright Mac, we are preheating that hot seat for you. No more excuses go get those W next year

    — Jeremy Deischer (@roxbombers) November 28, 2015

Did people kill Brian Lindgren last year? I remember ppl blaming Sefo. BL didn't get dumb over course of year. I go back to Oline issues

    — Eric Christensen (@cbseric) November 28, 2015

The last nine quarters, #CUBuffs have mustered just 17 points.

    — Adam Munsterteiger (@adamcm777) November 28, 2015

    — Matt Sisneros (@Matt_Sisneros) November 28, 2015

Jordan Gerkhe is like John Elway, in that he wears Number 7. That's about it

    — Jack Barsch (@JackBarsch) November 28, 2015

This may be another one of those games where missed first half opportunities are what really lost it for Colorado.

    — Patrick Ghidossi (@patrickghidossi) November 28, 2015

@FolsomFrenzy You can’t spell “great black athlete” without Awini

    — AllBuffs (@allbuffs) November 28, 2015
