TARZANA, Calif. – The University of Colorado women’s golf team slipped one spot in Tuesday’s final round to finish ninth at the Bruin Wave Invitational.
The Buffaloes finished 63-over par 927 (297-313-317) at the challenging par-72, 6,173-yard El Caballero Country Club. The Buffs began the tournament strong to tie for fifth after the first round, but faced increasing challenges as the days and rounds wore on.
“Not a great day for us,” CU head coach Anne Kelly said. “It was a tough golf course. Alexis (Keating) had very steady, consistent play this week. Jamie (Oleksiew) made a nice comeback; her wrist was feeling a bit better. She battled through some of the pain and played a pretty solid round considering everything. I’m a little bit disappointed, but I’m happy that Alexis had a pretty solid tournament and with the comeback by Jamie, Natalie (Vivaldi) showed some pretty good signs this week. Hopefully we’ll get Jenny and Kristin (Coleman) on track and we’ll be ready for the next one.
