You know, as mightily as the Buffs have struggled this season, they have the same 5-5 record as the Fighting Illini, last year's Big 10 Rose Bowl representitive. They also won today, instead of losing to Western Michigan. The Illini have a pretty good class beginning to come together:

The Buffs have played a much tougher schedule. I think it's possible we Buff fans are a little to close to the situation to see the big picture. We have a fine school, a good program that's getting better, and frankly a chance to show drastic improvement next season with the return of a number of injured and ineligible players. If I were a top receiver, I would be thrilled at the opportunity to walk right in and play. Same for DL and DB. A confident young guy might look at this situation as a great opportunity.

Colorado is a great place to live and play football. Go Buffs!

Colorado is a gorgeous state and the Buffs face stiff competition competing not only with the Mizzous, TT, UT, OU and NU's of the world but also against the Donkeys, Avs, Nugs and Rocks. That being said, I am so proud to be a Buff fan to have had the privilege of going to one of the best public universities in this country. CU will never compete with most of the aforementioned competion for dollars and championships. However, we have one of the finest educations, best scenery and an athletic department with integrity. Any quality young athlete that cannot figure out the enormous opportunity for personal development that an education from CU represents will be better off showcasing his talents at an OU or a KSU. But for those selcet few that value the truly finer things, the simple things that life has to offer, there really can be no better choice than to spend 4-5 years of your life in Boulder. Ask Graham, Navies, Bienemy, Klatt, A. Williams, J. Dizon etc. etc. if they would trade one moment of their time at CU for any other experience in their life. I bet I know what the answer would be. Yeah, losing sucks. No one wants to be just good enough. However, look around at the Big XII. Look at the resources available to many of our conference brethren. Put our situation into perspective. If you don't like what you see in the current state of Buff football, then open up your pocket book and make a donation. And if you do like what you see, buy some extra tickets and take a neighbor our family member you haven't connected with in a while to see a Buff game. Win or lose support your Buffs and your University. Support begins with us the fans. What good does pointing fingers and calling for heads do for our program? Do you think a single member of our team or our staff purposefully go out and give less than 100% on any given Saturday? I highly doubt it. These are all young men and veteran pros who have all had success at some point in their careers. They may have lost their way, but in their hearts they are all winners. Each one of them came here with a dream and a destiny to build a championship program that the University of Colorado. That is no small feat. It isn't going to happen over night and it certainly isn't going to happen if we don't find ways to support our team, win or lose.

Blah, blah, blah, sorry for the long rambling post.

Stream of consciousness. I'd fire the editor within, but he is just having a bad go at it. He'll turn things around too. :wink2: :smile2:
