I like the home field advantage. Think about it, it makes every conference game even more meaningful.

How about some rain champinship games in Eugene or Seattle? Some snow championship games in Boulder or SLC? Or just your nice pleasant championship games in LA or Tucson.

Not the first time I've been called this. Certainly won't be the last, I'm sure.

I think the Pac has a brand that should be exploited. The Pac has always been associated with the Rose Bowl. It's a natural fit. I understand and accept the reasoning behind the decision. I just don't agree with it.

I'd rather have the tailgate at the Rose Bowl. But whatever. This isn't the end of the world.

I'm okay with it, for now. Would like to see a bigger venue, like SD in the future. Might be in the works already.

    True.

I think we should take every opportunity possible to play in the Rose Bowl. It's a historic, iconic building.

You might have that issue anyway if UCLA ends up the top seed in the conference. I don't see this as a problem, personally.

Home field advantage is really a fun concept for a conference championship game. I suspect it won't last that long because once a neutral suitable stadium is found, the money will probably be too good to pass up. I would imagine places like LV are tripping over themselves to reach an agreement with the PAC 12 for the game to be there and obviously that agreement would involve a substantial investment to improve the stadium. These types of agreements take time, but will happen because the money will likely be right for both sides.

I sitll don't get how conferences like the ACC (or pac10) who don't sell out the championship games at neutral sites make more money than selling out the home stadium at inflated prices?

So you don't have a problem with returning to the Rose bowl in 4 weeks if we win the championship game there?

I may actually travel to these even when CU isn't playing. I don't know if that's just the excitement of the new conference and if it will wear off, but I love the Pac-12 already. I never had this feeling about the Big 12. I would never go to Dallas to watch the B12C. But I can definitely see myself traveling, for example, to Seattle for championship weekend in order to see Washington host USC.

Conceptually, I agree with you. However, if say a LV stepped up, I think the PAC schools would travel pretty well there. Pretty easy to get to for all schools in the conference and certainly plenty of hotels and fun to be had. I would imagine the city of LV would be willing to put up pretty large payout guarantees to the PAC12 to make this happen.

Say the game is at Folsom, you could charge more for the seats, but CU fans alone could buy up the entire stadium let alone the fans of the opposing team. So to continue with the Folsom theme, I would think the demand for tickets would easily exceed the 53k or so available seats.

Bolded part is the only place where the neutral site would win. For instance, i think arky and A&M get a ridiculous amt of money to play t jerry world each year.

However, as to the seats, Just move the prices up that demand curve some. ****ty for loyal fans? yes. But so are neutral site games with nearly as inflated prices.

Plus in Vegas, you would get a lot of people who don't give two rats asses about either team playing that would probably come watch anyway. Much like half the attendance at Super bowls are not fans of either team.

I agree. And I do prefer the conference championship to be at the top seeds location. I am just speculating that something neutral will probably happen given the money at stake (just like Jerry World).

I am not sure I like this either?

What if CU and Oregon win their division, don't play each other, and tie? Then whoever win a tie-breaker gets a HUGE advantage.....

In that case, just go by the results of last year's game.

Nope. I think it would be cool. Make the Rose Bowl our de-facto home field.

I prefer we default to the 1996 Cotton Bowl game....
