CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

I think the ability to crush and close up the PAC 12 is legit in his take
There is a playoff spot at stake, maybe even 2, so why not collude with ESPN to eliminate the PAC and move forward with as he says 4 time zones of games for your conference package. The PAC is in the weaker position being out west for the early game slot, unless we start playing games at 9 am

Expansion to 12 team playoffs might slow things down on the realignment front. Six highest ranked conference champions would make the CFP and that would mean the Pac-12 would have a much better chance most years of making the CFP.

Staying put in the Pac-12 might not be such a bad thing after all even if I prefer to see CU in the Big 12. If UO & UW and the Bay Area schools move to the B1G, staying in the Pac-12 with the Four Corners schools running the show is appealing to a degree. It might be MWC 2.0 but let's not forget that when Utah, BYU, and TCU were in the MWC, that conference was fun to watch. The key thing is CFP access and you can expect the PAC to raid the MWC in this case. SDSU, Boise State, AFA, etc would be the most obvious choices. As things stand, wouldn't it be easier to make the CFP out of the Pac-12 as opposed to the Big 12?

No one bothered to mention that the MWC commissioner is retiring at year's end. Something might be up.

CU is a lifetime away from worrying about winning a conference championship. CU needs $$$$ and not going to get it from any Pac tv MWC 2.0 deal. The Pac is a sinking ship, and CU will end up being the dead team floating next to the door in the ocean.

No amount of money would fix this chit hole

After which WA, OR, Furd, and Cal go to the B1G and you’ve backdoored your way into a rarefied MWC 2.0……
Yep. That's pretty much what the B12 is, too, once UT & OU leave.

I'm just wanting a solid conference media payout that gives great distribution. If it can be through the Pac, that's preferable since we'd owe like $17M back for that COVID loan if we left.

BYU, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas Tech, WVU, Cincy, Baylor, TCU >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SJSU, CSU, Air Force, Fresno, etc.
I'm talking about the size & football prestige of the new Big 12 members vs ASU, UA, Cal, CU, Furd, Oregon, OSU, Washington, WSU and Utah + SDSU & FSU (and potentially + BSU & UNLV too).

Both those conferences are a mix of former G5s and either borderline P5s or P5s which are outside the elite status.

The post you replied to was supposing a situation where Cal/ Stanford/ UO/ UW leave the PAC.

It has been said 100 times, but we picked exactly the wrong time to prove to the world no one at our university gives a flying **** about sucking at football.
Agreed that it doesn't help our cause, but Oregon and Washington have both been pretty good at football in the modern era and are the second and third best brands in the Pac 12 and they are barely sniffing an invite. Not only that but Utah has had a lot of success in the Pac 12 and they aren't even in the conversation. Even if CU was a consistent 6-8 game winner, I highly doubt we would be any closer to a B1G invite than we are now.

Sure, we have to show an investment in football and will to succeed, but the decision of whether or not the B1G or SEC decide to add programs like Utah, Arizona, ASU, Colorado, etc will ultimately come down to what those conferences (and the networks) envision major CFB looking like in the future.

If they want a true NFL model, but with more inventory by going to 20 teams each, then each conference will have to add programs, where CU is a fringe candidate. If they decide they want 24 teams each, they will absolutely grab CU and the Denver market, regardless of whether or not CU is showing that they are making some kind of massive shift to giving a **** about athletics.

It's geographically concise with the exception of the 3 Eastern Time Zone teams and it's possibly the only path to CU remaining P5.
Those states are all **** holes except Colorado. Florida has ocean and fishing but also has Ron DeSantis. Utah has skiing but has BYU and weird Mormon Government rules at times. Arizona has few redeeming qualities. The rest is farmers and Christian Taliban. 🤮

Coaching wise were still getting millions and millions less then the B1G and SEC schools and thus will have few good coaches.

Recruiting wise, because we cant get the best coaches, we still get the leftovers after the B1G and SEC have taken the cream of the crop.

Mormons, Christians, and farmers BAD. Got it. You need to get around more, Miami.
