    We will see attrition.

I love the way Tad is handling this.

100% believe in his new rule about staying on campus in the summer. If you're on scholarship and the NCAA says that you can have supervised S&C training along with 2 hours a week of meetings with coaches, then CU basketball should damn well make it a requirement to be a part of that.

Absolutely love it. I wonder if XJ is the one that convinced him letting the guys go home was a bad idea?

I don't think so. I think he said that he's going to tell some guys they better shape up, get with the program, or get the hell out cause they won't get any more rope or playing time next year if the pull the same **** they did this year.

I didn't realize the school could require it. my perception was that some schools had a culture whereby players spent the summers on campus, but not a requirement. more like "all the starters/upperclassmen are spending their summer here, I better too".

At VT, I was definitely of the understanding that the primary reason was to to show progress toward a degree by taking the six credits over the summer to supplement the 12 credit minimums they signed up for during the season. working out with teammates was an unofficial bonus.

I'm also mixing football and basketball here.

last, why the fucjk would someone choose to spend a summer anywhere besides Colorado!?!?!?!

Seems like most the speculation about attitude problems involves 3rd year guys. Don't think a summer on campus will change that. But if it means jhop and DT, who I believe went home last summer, can gain some strength and good weight, all for it.

that's a good point. my immediate reaction to your post was "that's what Thanksgiving and Xmas are for -- when the weather isn't perfect in Colorado", but that's not the case for college football and basketball players. I followed college sports for a long time before realizing that particular sacrifice the players make -- the first time I talked with a player who hadn't spent Xmas with his family in 3 years, I felt really sad. Then I thought about my student loan balance and about his scholarships and I felt better.
