CUBuffs.com: No. 22 CU To Host No. 9 UCLA On Thursday (Soccer, 3:00 MT)

Buffs win!!!! Their 2nd top 10 win of the year and the first in regulation ever against UCLA.

Great win!

( Don't know how the soccer tournament works, but if this was volleyball the discussion could change from whether the Buffs are tournament - bound (they are!) to whether the Buffs, if they keep winning, might earn a seed and so get to potentially host, (if they won a round or two) a few rounds in the tournament.)

Saw the second half in person, Emily Bruder scored about 4 minutes in after CU had a bit of possession and had been pinging the ball around between Emily, Danica , Taylor and Sarah. UCLA gave a bit too muhc space to the Buffs and Bruder was able to take several touches parallel to the top of the box until she had the shot she wanted. The Bruins' keeper was a bit off her line and Emily hit the ball over her.

Once the Buffs had scored it was all UCLA. They seemed to have had about 80% of the possession the rest of the half. But only managed four shots on goal and JJ was only really challenged a few times. This was in large part due to the Buffs staying in behind the ball in the final third which made it very difficult for UCLA to get a clean shot off.

Buff players were ecstatic at the final whistle.

I understand Ralphie will be making an appearance at Sunday's match v USC.
