Back in 1991, the NCAA voted to eliminate athletic dorms.

Oklahoma, like others, have figured out that they can get around this by having 51% non-athletes with 49% athletes in an athletic housing center.

In 2011, they began construction on the $75 million Headington Hall.

Isn't there a thread in the basketball forum about Kentucky's hoops dorm?

The NCAA is so stupid. Why not require students per athlete in a dorm to be the same ratio as the overall student population or something similar to that?

We're not in the race, because we weren't even invited.

No we're in the race. We're the token female Muslim sprinter that was invited to the Olympics. We're trying to run the 100 in a full Burqa. When we finish dead last, we'll have to one to blame but ourselves for our self imposed handicaps.

The St. Julien would make an awesome dorm for 51% students and 48% athletes.*

    And its already built.

There just is a minor issue with price and willingness to buy/sell.

*and 1% to me for the idea.

OK, this probably makes way too much sense, but what about converting some of the family housing into athletic housing? Since the majority of our athletes are football players anyway, it would be convenient for them to be right next to the practice fields and potential/maybe/possible/somepointinthefuture indoor practice facility.
