BOULDER – Colorado's women's basketball team opens the 2017-18 season on Friday on the road, taking on Samford at 5 p.m. MT in Homewood, Ala. CU will then play at North Carolina on Sunday at noon MT in Chapel Hill.

"We are thrilled for an opportunity to really get going for real," head coach JR Payne said. "Our exhibition game last week was real enough. There were people watching us play, referees and all of that, but it did not count for anything. I think it is a different mindset going into a real game."
...
"
(Didn't paste it here, but rest of article briefly discusses many of the various Buff players, and gives short summaries of this weekend's opponents.)

Vs. Samford (Friday, 7:00 PM MT start)
Live Video
- http://www.socondigitalnetwork.com/socon/game/colorado24-at-samford-on-11102017
(Stream link is from Samford's schedule (http://samfordsports.com/schedule.aspx?path=wbball). Can't see anything initially that says it requires a paid subscription, so hopefully it's free.)

Live Audio - Buff schedule says it will be on "RADIO: 1190 KVCU" . (In prior year's, these radio broadcasts could also be heard through streaming, but not seeing any link on the Buff schedule for that, at least not yet.)

Live Stats - http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=197219

Vs. the Univ. of North Carolina (Sunday, 12:00 PM/ noon MT start)
Live Video
(Stream link is from UNC's schedule (http://www.goheels.com/schedule.aspx?path=wbball .) - http://www.espn.com/watch/_/id/3198167/colorado-vs-north-carolina-w-basketball
(Appreciate anyone's input who knows WatchESPN better than I, but based on there being a key on the ESPN page, assume maybe only those whose cable/ satellite/ cordless TV subscriptions include the ACC Network will be able to sign in to view the stream, which is an offering of "ACC Network Extra"?)

Live Audio - Buff schedule says it will be on "RADIO: 630 KHOW" . (In prior year's, these radio broadcasts could also be heard through streaming, but not seeing any link on the schedule for that, at least not yet.)
In addition, looks like a stream of North Carolina's radio broadcast of the game will be available through link at http://www.goheels.com/watch/?Live=36&type=Live . Direct link to stream may be http://www.goheels.com/watch/?Live=113&type=Live.

Live Stats - On day of the game at latest, will be available through link at http://www.statbroadcast.com/events/statbroadcast.php?t=1&gid=unc .

Definitely hope we get a CU audio stream. Can't tell from the link if the North Carolina game is free or not since it takes you to the ESPN page. I don't have the ACC Network.

Tough start to the season so far with the Buffs down 14-31 to the half.

Offense looking very non-flowy, I guess to be expected with all the new faces. Buffs trying to pressure on defense non-stop, which has led to a few easy baskets. But, looking at the scoreboard, giving up 31 points in a half isn't bad overall, but scoring 14 is REALLY bad. (Buffs at 19.4% shooting.) It's been a turnover show for both clubs, with the Buffs on the slight negative end at 14-12.

Hope they can put it together in the 2nd.

Buffs with a great comeback and take the lead 55-53 with 4:44 remaining in the game; Sanford calls timeout. For the 1st time this year, the 3 ball has become the Buffs' friend, with them having hit 4 lately (I believe 3 by CAYLAO-DO).

Great effort and performance in the 2nd half by the Buffs makes it a 71-60 final!

Edit- just wanted to mention looks like the tweet above is off a a couple points on the final score, missing a couple last second free throws by Leonard.

After the first half, I am happy this team, as young as it is, got the W on the road to open the season. Lot of minutes by Q, Jank and Knight as well as Robinson, Leonard and Thomas.

How they caught up on the road I don't know. Need to hide in the locker room during JR's half time talks.

These girls are going to give this old man a heart attack. Guts. Guts. Guts. Robinson had ice in her veins on that last shot. JR was right on most improved player in Caylao -Do. Kennedy had a tough night but kept st it. JANK! Four years we get to watch her. Love knight's athleticism and aggressiveness. Looks like a 8 man rotation.

Didn't catch the game but judging by the thread, this year's WBB team has some heart and won on the road. Maybe the WBB will have the better record this season among the basketball teams.

Can't stress enough how big of a win this would be for the program this season.

So far the Buff defense is holding down NC fairly well and seem to be getting fair share of the rebounds but ESPN is not showing boxscore so don't really know that for sure. Lexi looking really good both shooting and defense. Mya getting a sweet little baby hook and a few fouls too...lol. Annika still looking more like a seasoned vet than a freshy, I really love the way she plays. Kennedy more in control than against Samford and seems to be running everything she wants. Make no mistake, even though they are not rated top 25, NC is still a premier team, not to be taken lightly. I am happy to see the Buffs playing so well against them, especially on offense. More later

Sorry about that. It was the first quarter score. Half is Buffs 47 UNC 32

Jank and Knight are playing very well in these first two games as freshmen. Mya did pick up a couple of quick fouls. Robinson is playing like she never tore her ACL. Leonard is the floor general.

Shooting free throws better than yesterday and beating NC on the boards 29-19. How many years has it been since CU was beating a decent team on the boards? Knight and Jank have 5 boards each and Bunn has 4.

overtime. Buffs with a clutch game tying layup with 3 seconds left. Off-season makes me forget how much games swing.

Sounds like a really good start for the women though. North Carolina has a strong women's program usually.
