Enjoy yourself.. Should be a great game..
Are you going to go to Gameday and wave a CU Flag..
Had not thought about that! Where can I get a flag at this late hour?
You could make a quick trip down here to the ATX and I'll let ya borrow mine!
Sorry, dude. ATX?
My apologies....can you meet me in Waco for a flag handoff? See you at 0500....
AHHHH! No can do! I have reservists coming in tomorrow plus I'm about 3 margs ("Rio" strength for those who attended CU 1991-present) into a good Friday evening - I'd probably still be hammered getting up at 0330 to get there! :sad2:
My bad, guess I was being a tease there
ok....anyway, I have to be in Plano for the boy's select soccer game at noon. Look for me in the upper deck, TCU side, wearing a Buff shirt and hat.
I've been to the Rio several times and every time I think their margs are pretty weak.
I saw Sebadoh at the fox in either 1998 or 1999. They confessed that they had been to the rio before the show and that the drummer had a few too many margs before the show and was unable to continue. "Anyone here know how to drum and know our songs?" Some dude had the night of his life....
Sebadoh's not bad. funny story.
to the OP, i've been to Amon Carter a couple times and it's a nice smaller stadium. good sight lines.
I enjoy Amon Carter. Made several games when I lived in Fort Worth because I had friends attending TCU. Never been there when it was anywhere close to a sellout though. Should be a fun game.
They were saying on Sportscenter right before Gameday came on that TCU is only averaging about 34K per game this year in a stadium that holds 44K. That's pretty disappointing for a team that's been in the top 10 for most of the season.
TCU is a small school, and their alumni base is relatively small. So it is not surprising to me that their crowds have been small. Plus, college football fans who live in Dallas or the mid-cities don't want to drive to Fort Worth, especially when you have the Mavs, Stars, and other diversions (sound familiar?).
true. my sister lives in dallas. i'd rather drive to the Springs and back from Boulder 2-3 times in a row than drive almost anywhere in Dallas/Ft. Worth. heh.
I don't know how true this is, but they were also saying that UT and aTm have as many if not more fans in the DFW area then TCU does. Makes sense though, especially with TCU being a private school.
God help Buff football (at least Danny "football"....)...I am off to see a discplined, well-coached team...
