"Gold Games"

Makes sense. If I remember correctly, Episode 1 of The Rise showed the Mac pointing to a poster board with the schedule and the names of the opponents were covered in tape (black tape for the first 8 games and gold tape for the last 4 games). That was when he was telling the team about Colorado being the most important team on schedule.

One thing I will give Barnett credit for is that while his teams sometimes started slow, they did peak in November (minus being exposed in his final year). Hopefully Mac and GB have discussed this point somewhere along the line.

oh, holy crap, that is awesome-- we are building to these last 4 games. talk about some great ****ing foreshadowing right there. a win over ucla in a rocking folsom field is the next step to greatness!

If he can have them step up another level for these final 4 games, November is going to be a lot of fun.
That's where I like his mantra of "just take care of Colorado." It helps diffuse pressure of big games or big opponents. Just take care of what you control and let the rest take care of itself. Play Colorado football. Fast and tough. Welcome to the Fight!!!!

The logic also makes sense when you put it in context with planning for the season. On paper the Buffs were expected to have a rougher start to the first half of the season, with road games at Michigan, Oregon, USC, and Stanford. I'm sure they were expecting to need a strong finish in the back half strong just to have a shot a bowl eligibility.

Excellent.

I'm sticking to my "be satisfied with .500 in all remaining P12 games" mantra (8-4 target now), but I do believe there's a great chance to do better.
Bite me Nik. You need a little more powder in your kool-aid.

My knee jerk goes with lvbuff, but actually Buffnik has the right answer here. If we finish 8-4, that would be an amazing outcome vs. preseason expectations and we should reflect on it positively.

I am optimistic that so much more is possible, but I'm not going to let the possible dampen what has happened if it just simply doesn't pan out that way.

All that being said, I'm all in on rolling 4 straight wins here and facing UW at 10-2!
