Reading the Post today, I came across some quotes from Hansen and Kiesau that just had me shaking my head, almost as if Hawk was pulling the puppet strings.

"Cal's a lot faster and more athletic than
Colorado State was," Hansen said, referring to
the previous week's 24-3 victory over the Rams.
"We knew that coming in. But their speed
surprised us a little bit. We underestimated how
fast they were. I think that was the biggest key."

"(Cal defenders) were very fast, very strong, a lot
of speed off the edge," Kiesau said. "We were
having a hard time getting all (our offensive
linemen) to stand on them. It was tough at the
beginning because of the speed of the game.

"We were ready for the pressure. We just had to
kind of figure out where it was coming from. We
just tried to protect (the quarterback) as best we
    could."

"Their D-line and linebackers are really good,"
Hansen said. "They did some things defensively
that confused our O-line a little bit. But we'll
clean that up for next week."

Underestimating Cal's team speed and not being ready for the speed of the game??? Gee, I thought the COACHES might want to make the players aware of those little issues ahead of time.

Figuring out where the pressure is going to come from??? Hmmm, I thought that might be a coach's responsibility...such as a coordinator or O-Line coach???

As far as Hansen's "clean that up" comment, I can't believe Hawk did that without moving his lips...

I have notice these quotes and others as well. Personally I think that the players have simply adapted to the situation and are in "survival mode" until something changes.

Hawk is living in his own little world somewhere a few miles from reality and the players know how to not rock the boat in that world. He has taken any level of leadership, internal motivation, and initiative out of the players, saturday was just another example of the consequences of that. The players sound like they are getting numb to both Hawk and the beatings.

If they think Cal is fast, wait until UGA comes into town.

Unreal. After being here five years, they don't know how to match up with a team with speed? Fire them all. Start over. This is beyond absurd. It's laughable.

I seriously doubt Cal is faster than Texas or OU or several of the other teams CU plays regularly. This **** just makes me shake my head.

Our OL coach couldn't stop a blitz of 80 yr old women. You know, there are ways of making teams pay for blitzing so much, just sayin'.....

We have big slow OL who are made for run blocking (don't really do that well either) and we spend much of the time throwing. Our ALL-AMERICAN less than 10% body fat left tackle is getting abused by a 5-11 212 lb on the edge?

This staff DOES NOT DEVELOPE PLAYERS and DO NOT GET THE FULL POTENTIAL FROM THESE PLAYERS.

Then you have players who never get pissed or show any pride, they just ho-hum losses just like the head coach. It's time someone lights a fire under the coaches and players asses. You can't explain away these types of losses as,"we need to clean some things up"

Show some effing heart and pride for once.

CANCEL the 1990 team thingy vs georgia, this team will dishonor that team.

How often should we ever hear a player saying "We weren't prepared for _________." This seems like an every week occurance. Who is responsible for making sure that the team is prepared for these things? Cal's speed wasn't any surprise to the announcers, the media, a lot of the fans for each team. How is it that our players weren't aware and prepared to deal with this speed.

It all comes down to the coaching. If it were the first game of the season against a team with a new staff and a lot of new players I can understand, if it were a new wrinkle in the scheme that hadn't been used before I can understand it, but we weren't prepared for their speed? WTF!!!!!

that's it! They are playing the wrong games! Instead of leap frog, they should have our OL hold hands and play "red rover, red over" with the DL.

We're living in Groundhog Day, it's the same **** over and over and over. I just didn't realize Groundhog Day was a documentary on Hawk's regime:

What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?

There is no way that this winter (Hawk's regime) is *ever* going to end as long as this groundhog (Hawk) keeps seeing his shadow. I don't see any other way out. He's got to be stopped.

When Chekhov (Buff fans) saw the long winter (Hawk's tenure), he (Buff fans) saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope.

The players have all bought in. It's sad that they bought into an infomercial coach. They all seem brainwashed --

    >Stewart described the mood around the Colorado programs this way:

"People are upset, but I think a loss is a loss, no matter if you lose by one point," he said. "It`s just something we`ve got to come back from. Whether we win next week by one point or whatever. We`ve just got to win next week and just get over it."

Yeah, getting beat down is no big deal.

Please refrain from using Gordon Gee's name in a post about that abomination with a sideline pass.

Pick the player or coach, crying: "...and then they took the ball (sniff sniff) and ran away with it (bellow bellow)... they were mean to me, just make them stop, please mommy, just make them stop..."
