this was not a team with superior athletes all around. this was not a team that had loads of veterans to lean on.

we had walk-ons, frosh, and third-teamers play pivotal roles in this season.

sure, there were some low-lights and the staff blew it from time to time, but, give the staff huge credit for finding a way to 6 wins. with the schedule this team faced and the youth and injuries, it took a damn fine coaching job to get them to .500. credit the staff and credit the players for not quitting. they dug in and got it done.

down by 11 to a team we've rarely had the pleasure of watching lose and our Buffs stormed back and found a way.

finally, huge kudos to the seniors. they went thru a ton of bullcrap and a big coaching change. they've gone out the right way at home: a gigantic win over the red menace.

    good job, Buffs. good job.

    the future is very bright.

There were those that said they would be exstatic with six wins. Where are you now?

I said that this season would be a success if we went to a bowl.

It's even better! We beat CSU, OU, and NU all in the same season. I consider that a benchmark of excellence that needs to be carried over into next year.

It would disrespect the proud tradition of the University of Colorado to do backflips over a 6-6 record.

Coach Hawkins and Bohn have forcefully and deliberately moved the program one step closer to the bigger goal. Ryan Miller came to CU to grab the MNC. The 2007 season is part of that journey.

I am very proud of the seniors who have selflessly hung tough and helped the program rebuild. The best football is still ahead for the rest of the team.

I wouldn't say I'm ecstatic since 6 wins is where I thought we'd be but I do consider it a good season at this point in time and it is a step in the right direction.

Congrats to all the players and coaches!

Seniors win games. I can't wait for our freshman to grow up. We basically had a high school team with some upper classmen when we started against CSU.

Right here. I was smilin' ear-to-ear yesterday.

Before the season started, I Looked at the schedule, the returnees, the youth - thot we'd be improved, but a 5-7 team when it was all said and done.

Sooooo glad I was wrong. :smile2:

The upperclassmen deserve a bowl game after all they've been through. Good for the youngsters to get a taste of the post-season. Good for recruiting. Good for the staff. Good for the budget (well, maybe).

    Go Buffs!

    And Thanks, Bulldogs

Very very happy with the season overall. Some great wins, some bad losses but a bowl game after a 2-10 season. Very happy with the direction of the program.

I too am very proud of our Buffs. 6-6 and bowl eligable - what I thought we could and should have been able to do this season. They got the job done.

What I am most proud of is the level of toughness and heart we saw emerging from our Buffs this year. It's been a long long time since we have shown grit like we saw this year. As our talent and depth get better so will our record.

I salute a very highly undermanned oline and severly under manned Dline and a over all inexperienced core of wr's for giving there all and making me proud to be a CU fan. Now onto you JimmyBuff seek help a 2-10 team gutted out 6 wins and played incredibly competive all year and all you ever did was slam them when they did not meet your expectations.

I Canuck_Buff find you lacking and unworthy as a Cu fan and have judged you. Your nothing more than a front running sum na batch:sad2:

I am beyond exicited and let me tell you why. First off we won 4 more games then we did last year with not much of an upgrade YET. Second, offensively we made huge strides culminating with 65 hung on Throatslash yesterday. Third, we just seem to be way more disciplined then we have ever been. Penalties seem to be down and if you commit something stupid then it seems you suffer the consequences. Fourth, we are going BOWLING BABY!!!! Extra practice time, extra game, extra exposure. Fifth, we are poised to have one of the best recruiting classes of any team coming off of 2 win seasons(I always go back to the previous year). If we really get over the hump and start competing for the Big 12, imagine our recruiting classes??? Sixth, I can hardly find fault in the play calling and decision making yesterday, it seems that Hawk watched and learned from the ISU game. The difference in Dan Hawkins and Bill Callahan is that Hawk will listen and learn whereas Throatslash will yawn in the right after his QB throws his second back to back pick.

It's great that CU is beginning to turn things around and could possibly be heading to a bowl game but don't get too caught up in "strides" about throwing up 65 points against our sorry ass D! :smile2:

Wrong again and read my post on Huskerboard, our offense the last two seasons has been abysmal and hangin 65 even on the pinkshirts :jester:was an accomplishment.
