Not so fast, KU (and possibly KjSU) could be prime candidates for the Big East:
And if you don't think that KU fits in the Big East geographically....
KU will find a home. Not sure about KjSU. It all depends on the Mountain West BCS hopes. I mean if that happens I think Kansas State could kick some ass.
i saw this same point made on another board earlier this AM. KU to Big East and not MWC.
Closest school in conference
Big East: 548 miles (Louisville).
MWC: 515 miles (TCU).
Farthest school in conference
Big East: 1,435 miles (Providence). Among football schools, 1,388 miles (UConn).
MWC: 1,565 miles (San Diego State).
I would die laughing if KjSU came into the MWC and started kicking ass.
Jensie - love the Rose Bowl logo avatar.
Those are some more good facts about KU and their proximity to either conference. And with the MWC, KU would be going to a pretty good basketball league but certainly nothing great, whereas in the Big East they would be joining arguably the top basketball conference in the country.
I don't know why they couldn't. MWC looks like it will get a BCS bid too.
The only problem with Kansas hitching its ride with the Big East is that the league isn't exactly a conference with strength.
TCU would push our **** in.
How very christian highschool of them.
While wearing your colors too.
In football, no, but they already have a BCS spot while the MWC doesn't. And the basketball isn't even comparable between the 2, and all KU seems to care about is basketball. Of course this whole idea quickly falls apart should the Big East lose some teams to the Big 10 and/or ACC.
Can you imagine the fans of any of the big-least teams on their first road trip to Manhatten?
