CSU Knob-Slobberer
First of all, I didn't catch the game because the weather system is giving me headaches...perhaps God didn't want me to throw stuff at the TV.
On to what this topic is all about:
A bunch of us watched the 1990 National Championship team including myself and most of us got spoiled with the success of CU being one of the best teams in the nation at the time. Now those days seem much further away after losing to CSU today. I know it is just one game but did you guys watch the other North teams yesterday especially Missouri? It looks like MU hasn't lost a step as a program and I have told myself that if MU manages to contend for the North title and make the Big 12 CCG again, MU firmly establishes itself as the North power. KU will do anything to keep up with MU and while I hate to admit it, NU's future looks brighter than ours.
The way I see it realistically, we are in the same group as ISU and KSU and possibly for sometime assuming that CU gives Coach Hawk the pink slip after this season.
Look at TT...about a few years to five years ago, they were the type of team that everyone cheered for because they usually were the underdog against the likes of UT, OU, and A&M. Now TT is one of the top South teams. What I'm saying is that if we manage to have a winning season with a bowl game this season, we shouldn't get rid of Coach Hawk unless we don't see any signs of hope for next year.
Instead of contending for North titles, we should be happy with winning seasons and bowl apperances. It's a far cry from when winning the Big 8 was the way we measured success for the Buffs but it's still a successful season.
