Interesting point about being the only private school. I read something somewhere that every BCS conference has a private school to avoid sunshine laws.

That way, the meeting/notes and parties held on behalf of the conference can't be procured through public requests for information.

I don't know if that's true or not. Any experts on this? Beltway - are you itching to see the expense items that the B12 spent on their last foray to the BroAdmoor? If kicking Baylor out means getting behind the staff meetings held by B12 officiating crews following the CU-ISU game, is that a bad thing?

Interesting theory. Let's test it (I'll name just one private school in each D-1 conf.):
Pac10 has USC;
SEC has Vandy;
Big 10 has Northwestern;
ACC has Duke;
Big 12 has Baylor;
Big East has 'Cuse;
CUSA has Rice;
Mtn West has TCU;
Mid-American has Temple;
Sun Belt - I'd have to do further checking (I'll get right on that :lol:) because none immediately jump out as private.
WAC are all state schools.

I will note that the fact that almost all schools, public or private, receive some sort of federal funding (scholarships, grants, etc.), probably means the schools are subject to FOIA requests, but I'm no expert.

I'll let you know when I try to subpoena the minutes of the Big 12 referee's meetings. :thumbsup:
