Good thing Speedy and Locks are juniors. Still, we need serious help at RB. And converting Polk back doesn't make sense anymore given our weakened secondary.
Jefferson, 5-feet-11 and 190 pounds, was moved to running back this week as a replacement for junior tailback Brian Lockridge, who, it was announced Tuesday, will undergo season-ending ankle surgery.
Lockridge had been the top backup to starter Rodney Stewart before injuring the ankle in the Oct. 2 victory over Georgia. Lockridge did not carry the ball last weekend in the 26-0 loss at Missouri.
so is he a quitter or are there circumstances we don't know about.
I'm not gonna knock JT, but why can't we keep/recruit RBs that will stay with the program. wtf is Hagan doing...
It's a little harsh but, they gave Torres a chance to play BCS football, the least he could do regardless of how inept of a coach Hawk, is return his calls and tell him himself. I don't blame Mike he went all out for this kid to get him to a BCS school and he made Mike look bad by leaving without saying a word.ouch. Mike M. really coming down on the kid.
ouch. Mike M. really coming down on the kid.
For good reason. Moschetti goes out of his way to get the kid in at CU and this is how he gets treated? Torres won't even return his calls?
That's some bull**** right there.
If you are JT do you want to stick around with this inept coaching?
I finally got some inside info which I won't share...but suffice to say that Torres turned out to be a big disappointment for Mike, especially how he handled his decision not to return and to not even have the guts to call and explain himself.
Also...this has nothing, zero, to do with Hawkins or Hagan. They both went out of their way to help him along. This is all on Torres, a kid that wanted to stay home.
So...we will leave it at that.
Former CU quarterback Mike Moschetti, who was Torres’ coach at La Mirada (Calif.) High School, didn’t hide his disappointment over Torres’ decision.
Moschetti told the Times-Call that Torres “couldn’t handle it; he couldn’t handle being away from home.”
“I called (Torres’) dad, and his dad said he’s not coming back (to CU).”
Moschetti relayed that message to Hawkins and Hagan. Moschetti said Torres never talked to Hagan or Hawkins before leaving and hasn’t contacted them since. Moschetti said Torres won’t return his calls, either.
“What he did to coach Hawkins and Hagan and the rest of the football team in general is inexcusable,” Moschetti said. “Colorado is better off without him. You can’t count on someone like that.”
Moschetti said he has heard that Torres would like to play football at a junior college near his hometown.
Gateway,
Mike pretty much said it all in the Longmont Times Call this morning.
