Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I interpret what I've seen on his contract, he's entitled to the full amount of his salary though the term of his contract. There isn't some magic figure that gets taken off at the end of every season or calendar year. Every time he gets a paycheck, his buyout decreases.
Is this not correct? Because if it is, there really is no buyout. If we fire his worthless slack-ass right this very minute, he'd get paid the exact same amount as if we kept him on through the full term of his contract. Additionally, if we replace him with an interim (Cabral, Kiesau), we're in the same spot, at least through the course of the remainder of the season.
I'm really not seeing a downside to firing him about 10 seconds after the game clock in Norman hits zeros.
