With 2 great wins under their belts already, I'm sure men's basketball (26-10 overall; 13-7 in conference play) is hungry for even more, and next faces off against the #2 seed and #8 ranked (in both major polls) Marquette Golden Eagles (26-9 overall; 14-6 in the Big East). As with Friday's game, the action in this South Region 2nd round matchup will be taking place in Indianapolis at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with the tipoff scheduled to start Sunday's slate of games with an early 10:10 AM MT tipoff.
(The winner of this game is scheduled to face off, I assume next Thursday or Friday, against the winner of the #11 seed North Carolina State vs. #14 seed Oakland 2nd round game, which is scheduled to be shown on TBS beginning at 5:10 PM MT today (Saturday)..)

In their 1st round game (ESPN recap at https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/recap/_/gameId/401638607 ), the Golden Eagles were down 6 at the half to #15 seed Western Kentucky, but then came out STRONG in the 2nd half and ended up pulling away for a comfortable 87-69 win.

This CU- Marquette game is being shown on CBS. (Further info and links for media options available near the bottom of this post.)

Note - Not that they matter at all anymore, but CU's and Marquette's major rankings/ ratings are/ were the following (Looks like Kenpom does include almost all (15 of 16) of today's games as I type this, BPI doesn't, while the last NET is still from before Selection Sunday (3/17).).:
NET (https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings) - CU 25;
Kenpom (AKA "Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings"; Not including today's win over BSU; https://kenpom.com/index.php) - CU #21 (up from 26); Marquette 13
ESPN's "'Basketball Power Index" (BPI; https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/bpi) - CU 45; Marquette 13

Go Buffs!!!

I wonder if I could get my pastor to move our church service to 9? Prolly not. 🤣

I like to listen to Mark J and Wilke, pre- and post-game. I use the link on CUBuffs.com. The last 2 games they screwed up and put in a link for the womens' game. Iheart won't let me listen to KOA, since I'm in NJ.
Any thoughts on how else it's available?

what a great first 2 games! give us at least one more W. so awesome.

Download the Varsity Network App it worked for me. I haven't tried it through a computer though.

So Tyler Kolek (PG for Marquette and former Big East player of the year) is back from injury (oblique) after missing about 3 weeks.

Kolek was 4 rebounds shy of a triple double in their first round matchup with Western Kentucky.

KJ v. Kolek is going to be must see TV.

Anybody else have good insight into the match ups tomorrow?

IHeart won’t let me listen either since I’m 20 minutes from Boulder. 😆

I know Kolek is responsible for one of the funniest tweets I’ve seen in a long time.

(But seriously, dude is good. Good shooter. GREAT passer. Keeps their team going)

Random memory popped up in Facebook today: when the Buffs came to Seattle in 2015 to play Seattle U in the CBI … and lost. I played in bigger gyms at my little 3A high school (Cortez). Stands only on one side of the court. Concessions were at a table out in the hall. That was a true low point as a Buffs hoops fan.

Those days are far behind us! Sweet 16, here we come!

How much were beers?

It would be an upset if the Buffs beat Marquette, but it is certainly possible. If they do, there are tantalizing prospects ahead. From Ralphie Report:

"If they manage to beat Marquette, they would be in prime position to go even further, as 11-seed NC State and 14-seed Oakland are on the other side of the Eagles. That’s not to look ahead, but the Buffs could very well be in the chaos bracket."
