What's larger than life is this story. In that Camera editorial, Krieger points to his "unanswered questions," as if someone has a duty to do that. Okay, so this could have been handled a little better, but none of those questions have anything to do with any actual harm being done to anyone. These Camera editorials appear to me to be pathetic attempts to get someone, anyone, to listen to a man with a career on a serious downhill slide. So what if there are leaks to the press, there isn't much substance to any of these allegations.

Eventually, someone will figure out nobody pays attention to print media anymore. Then, one glorious day, a sitting Governor, University President, celebrity or the like will respond to a question that starts with: "The Denver Post is reporting...", in the following fashion. "So?"

Then, print media will finally begin its final death spiral. Until that day, and rest assured CU will not be the entity that provokes that day, we will have to deal with an ever increasing tendency to be like the National Enquirer by these sort of outlets.

Regents will go into Executive Session in eight minutes. Taken from bottom half of article:

"The Board of Regents will go into executive session at 2 p.m. and then talk about the reports and possible punishments in an open meeting, said CU spokesman Ken McConnellogue.

Allegations against former safeties coach Joe Tumpkin surfaced when Tumpkin’s ex-girlfriend of three years called MacIntyre on Dec. 9 and allegedly told him Tumpkin had repeatedly and violently abused her over the course of their relationship.

According to a CU statement, MacIntyre informed George, who then informed DiStefano.

Tumpkin continued to coach and was selected to call defensive plays in the Buff’s Dec. 29 appearance at the Alamo Bowl, despite MacIntyre reportedly receiving a Dec. 15 voicemail from the woman saying she planned to go to the police and seek a restraining order against Tumpkin.

University leaders said they did not become aware of a temporary restraining order request against Tumpkin until Jan. 6, when the Daily Camera wrote about it.

Tumpkin resigned in January."

To those in Colorado, specifically Boulder, it may seem like a storm. Nationally, it is barely news. It is not in the top 25 NCAA stories on ESPN.com and you hear nothing about it on the news in California. It does not rival the MSU, Ole Miss, OU and Baylor scandals. Granted the board should have handled this MUCH better, but this is an eddy, not a tornado.
Now, if RG walks because of this, it becomes a problem.

Ok, Backstreet Boy.

ESPN & Fox Sports are both at the venue waiting for the reports and statements.
